I Know Im Late But Why Arent Threads Getting Locked

before 9/7 last year threads got auto locked after a set number of days, after 9/7 they stopped and I was sure it was done so intendedly to raise the number of active threads.
but now we are over a year after the event, the forums (kinda) recovered, why aren't threads getting auto locked again?

 

I think most threads are just left open, and locked if they're necroed. They don't really need to have autolock if people just leave the threads alone.

 

With the previous system necro'ing wasn't a thing and if a thread got resurrected you knew it got an approval of a moderator.

 

That feature was removed for some reason, no idea why.

 

Also threads getting resurrected was rare so the community was actively bumping and discussing to prevent the threads that intrested them from getting locked.

 

Someone said that a thread owner can talk to a mod/web helper about reviving his thread. Maybe?

 

Yes if the thread owner wants their thread back they can request for it to be reopened.
