Same reason that there are uniques that can be considered some of the best items in the game. Everyone is just ignorant.

For all the people who say Catalysm is the best: If you use a build that boosts thunder damage, but still has enough intelligence and mana regen to spam spells, you will have 3k-5k health (5k if you don't go full glass cannon), get 1 shot by anything, and won't have a high enough amount of agility to consistently avoid taking damage. Damage isn't everything and there are plenty of other daggers that can do high damage and spam spells without being a glass cannon.

 

Yeah, I kinda agree now, Cataclysm is good but not that great unless you've got the perfect build
but I still think Nirvana shouldn't be worth like 20 stacks either, personally I don't think spell spam is that important if you can pack a punch with the mana you have and live long enough to just regen it if they haven't died already

 

Cataclysm + statue + full speed/thunder build = yea sure i'll wreck you.

 

I don't think either weep should be worth 20 stacks actually, And i don't base stuff off of the base stuff at all, hence why half of my gear is low level and why I have low hp (Unless I use statue but i rarely do)

you litterly call it shitty for doing low damage and than u say u have 3800 water defense , do you even try to think about what you're saying?
lament has low damage , yet a lot of mages use it and its not bad
idol has low damage (compared to other spears) yet its good and people use it
heck spring's damage is not so good but a lot of people use it
nirvana has decent damage , its bugged so it has less than it should have (after the fix it could easily get 10k neutral+6k water on multi hits)
but the thing about it is that you can be in vanish forever and spam the living shit out of ur spells so even doing 900 damage but being able to spin attack 10 times and than regen all the mana in a second is gonne end up being 9000 damage while still keeping your mana at full (lets not even talk about the water armor passive which will probably triple ur spin damage when u start getting to a point in which it costs like 10 mana)

 

Statue will most likely be nerfed to have a high defense and agility requirement… Also, you won't have mana regen if you want to fully get rid of that -walkspeed even if its a -98% walk speed statue.
