Incoming Changes To The Wynncraft Store (please Read)

Hello everyone,


Today I bring you some news - and it's up to you how you take it. We just want you to know, it's out of our control.

As you can probably tell from the title of this thread, we're making some changes to the store. We're telling you this because we feel it's important to let you know what is happening and why. The store is the very backbone of Wynncraft - without it, we have no game to play. Hosting our network, as everyone knows is very expensive to maintain and we're very grateful to everyone that has bought something. Making sure our store is able to support us is incredibly important.

OK so what's going on?

Before you get all upset please read the whole thread before commenting.

Well a few things are being removed or are being changed. To put it plainly in a list:

- Riding players ability will be removed
- Riding pets ability will be removed
- Item bombs will temporarily not be useable (you will not lose the ones you have)
- Gold coins will no longer be available for purchase

OK - why?

In June 2014, Mojang posted the rather infamous blog concerning the EULA (some of you might remember it). We at Wynncraft decided to fully conform with these rules as soon as possible and updated our store to do so a few months later. We didn't hear anything from Mojang about it, so we assumed all was well.

Well, Mojang updated their EULA again very recently, and included in this was to ban the use of "Virtual currency", amongst other things which were previously allowed. The EULA is the guidelines that Mojang provide that dictate how we monetize the server - as is their right. Whether you agree or disagree with them on this matter, it's their game. We're grateful that we're able to do this at all. However, Mojang have recently told us that we have to change some of our store or face the blacklist (meaning no one will be able to use Wynncraft). As such, we have to once again update our store and unfortunately this may affect people who have purchased something.

I must stress that while gold coins will no longer be available for purchase - that does not mean if you already have them they are worthless. You can still use them, you just can not buy more.

Mojang have dictated that these changes must be done before September 20th, as such all of the listed changes will happen then. The store will remain as it is until then.

So - what now?

There is a silver lining. We're of course complying once again to the EULA by completely overhauling our store. This mean's we're giving fresh rewards to VIP's, exploring new ways to monetise the game so that we can stay afloat. Since the store keeps us alive, we'll be spending a lot of time to get it right and really make sure that buying something is worth it for you as a player.

However, because we've been working on new features, the store kind of got pushed back to the last minute, so there will be a gap between some features changing and the new store overhaul. We want to keep our new rewards a secret so it's a surprise when we launch.

What does this mean?

Well, this means things go about as usual for you guys. You wont be able to ride players etc from the 20th and we hope you understand why. From the 20th, we might not make as much money and that's something we'll have to deal with for the time being.

Follow the EULA by removing the VIP+ Pet Riding 'feature' :D I like.

 

Pros:
-No more annoying player riders.
-No more VIP+ pet riding (which was annoying for many)
-Better rewards for ranks.

Cons:
-No more player towers.
-No more gold coins.
-No more DXP? (needs confirmation)

So, you still didn't explain why pet riding and player riding are getting removed.

 

Mojang pulling EULA shenanigans

 

Well hey, at least there's no more pet riding! Looks like I can finally travel without having to get onto them every second.

 

Also some people were prolly annoyed by people riding them
And you could break the game with it

Why did mojang do this?! At this point they're trying to kill every Minecraft server TBH.
