Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

This seems to attract Ihra's attention, who closely eyes some of the herbs.

 

Some of the herbs are strangely coloured, others look soft, while some look spiky and dangerous. The plants appear to be rather normal fruits and vegetables, but the one that looks like a baby from the earth with a tormented face is rather offputting.

 

"Is that some voodoo plant?" Ihra asks, pointing to the offputting plant.

 

"Kind of. It's a mandragora root." Stephanie says, deummoning the mandragora root.

Stephanie pulls out a large flower that fills the air with the horrible smell of rotting meat.

 

Ihra hurls, barely missing Rineth.
"Burn that thing or put it away, could you?!" Rineth grumbles.

 

Stephanie quickly desummons the flower, before reaching into the chest and pulling out what appears to be it's opposite; which fills the air with smells so sweet they could rot your teeth.

 

"Good idea. I'll go to Fellak, the capital."
I fly north towards Fellak, in a direction that allows me to pass over Runetrel on the way.

He smirks.
"I did have time to hide one chest of my belongings. It doesn't look like anyone's found it in the 10,000 years its been hidden."
Hythania says, "That chest you have now might have been mine. You can keep it though. I've already regained anything I put in that chest."

 

"Oh, thanks!" Stephanie says happily.

 

It talks about the possibilities of forging powerful weapons with the right metals. One specific example mentions combining two types of metal, and then melting it at a high temperature, allowing for a molten core in the blade.

"Well, I would, but he's sort of been living under a rock for a while now. Also, he doesn't exactly want to be discovered, and I don't want an army of Draconians knocking on my door asking for him."

 

"No problem. There are lots of useful things in there."

"Interesting..."
He looks through the book for any notes on where the metals are found and how to get them to the high temperatures.

 

One of the two metals appears to be some kind of alloy, while the other one seems to be some kind of liquid. The usage of either magic or a volcano would do enough heat.

 

"Liquid metal? That's new."
He looks for more interesting chemicals.

 

Crystal seems surprised at the sudden tension.

 

Ihra relaxes.
"That's a loooot better than the last one..." She grumbles.

Kai is visible below you as you fly, but there's nothing else notable wrong.
Except for caravans that aren't going anywhere because Brisingr isn't land anymore.

"I'd think you'd be able to protect him. Have you ever seen what's hunting him down?" Iruk asks, concerned.


"We're at a stalemate, I'd say. Would you like to call this duel a draw?" Your opponent asks, still unscathed and still keeping you from your sword as you find that you've run out of bolts.

Ruby pats them on the back.
"It's fine. This stuff happens a lot." She says with a gentle smile.

 

"These are pretty good ingredients for potions." Stephanie says happily, emptying the rest of the chest onto her lap and desummoning it.

 

"Oh..."
Pause.
"Does Ihra throw up easily?"

 

"Sounds like something you can experiment with." Ihra says, smiling.

"Only at foul smells, blood, and golems. So don't call yourself a golem."

 

"So that flower made a foul smell?"
He asks, clarifying.

 

He finds a kind of metal that, in theory, would be able to shapeshift.

"For a moment, I did. They brought down some of my airships."
----
'Sure." Helianthus says.

 

Once I reach Fellak, I fly to the palace.

He continues looking through the book.
