The following are just my opinions:
I hate loot chest campers! Although I myself will wait for the time required to open a loot chest, but if someone comes along before then, they are welcome to it. Tough breaks to me. That's the chance I took. The game builds the time limits into the mechanics for a reason, to discourage loot chest abuse. So if I come across someone camping on a T4 loot chest I'm not going to stop and say "Pardon me sir, have you been flipping servers to loot this chest, or afking to loot it over and over?" I'm going to assume the worst of a player I see camping, just as I would expect someone to of me. Same with unclaimed loot on the ground. Let the game mechanics decide the rules. If I've traveled far and wide on a loot run you better believe I will open every chest I come across. And I'm sorry to those that ended up not being able to open their chest for completely innocent reasons. That being said I have looted hundreds and hundreds of chests and hardly ever come across this scenario. :-)

Also 1.8.9 is the most stable version of Wynn atm, and you can't push ppl who are afk, which is against the rules, if it leads to their death.

 

True story

-loot running
-going to house near Eltom (pre-update)
-found someone afking the chest (don't remember who)
-I said "oh, never mind I'll let you take this" in chat for them to see when they get back
-moving on towards molten heights
-get a message from the guy saying thanks for not taking
-he gets a Return to Ether, which I really wanted, and some other stuff
-he offers me it for free
-I get the gratification of leaving him to what he wants to do, and a free RtE
-he gets the other loot and the gratification of getting me something I need
Everyone's happy! :D

 

well what if

- the person is afk
- its a tier IV
- theres no other chests in the area
- im server hopping

 

but they're afk

 

his entire post is literally an answer to your AFK point

 

it would hurt me if i miss out on money by not taking one

 

if theres only one chest in the area its probably not a good server to loot and it would be better to go to a server with a lot of chests in it

 

what if tier 4?

 

then get a tier 4 and a bunch of tier 3's on another server, the math isnt that hard
