Clue Old ??? Giving Us Some Headway Into This One

It didn't take us long to realize that there were strange meteors strategically placed throughout the map.
3 of which had meteor shards, and one had a hopper.
We would toss all three in, and voila!
We were almost done with ???
But we weren't, there was still a code to break.

Yahya's house would be our first meteor.
Nohno's house would be our second.
Sohso's house would be our third.
The talking mushroom, I think, will lead the way to the houses.

Now, if this isn't the exact ordering, the talking mushroom will tell us what goes where.

Once we have all three items, we go to Mehme's house, the big meteor.
We drop all items in.

But that is just the beginning.
Who knows what puzzles could be inside Mehme's house?

Every item you get is a clue;
But what I believe is every random UNTRADABLE item you get,
they are all letters, to a bigger code.

What if, the brother's houses are our meteors,
and each house is harder to get a meteor shard than the other,
maybe puzzles to get through.

What I believe is the only way to get to the brothers' houses is with three items, like with the meteor shards. Its a three letter word, that you have to crack.
I also don't believe you throw the talking mushroom in.
The talking mushroom talks, and it will help you beat ???

What about the strange mushroom?

but im pretty sure that the devs wouldnt make it just one item to throw into the hopper because that would just be too easy.

So from what I can tell, what you're saying is:
Each brothers house serves the purpose of an old meteor. Doing something at each house will reward us with a new form of a meteor shard. Putting the three new shares into a hopper somewhere will reveal the way to the ending?

Sounds like it could be possible.
