Gaia is a wand that focuses on melee damage. Just saying.

Well I'll just explain:
You're not a glass cannon.
You're just glass. You can't do anything except break.
No dmg output except the thorns and a bit of poison.
This has been tested before, and even with a -98% (min iirc) in both Cancer stats it does nothing.

I've actually tested melee damage changes before, and -melee damage has no effect on elemental damage.

Taurus destroys your spell damage along with Cancer, and Cancer destroys your melee damage.

 

So an Infused Hive weapon with full powder slots (1 of each element) would not be affected be either Cancer or Taurus.

You're forgetting raw melee damage.

 

It's still pretty terrible, you only get like 1.5k max.
With a good melee build I'm pretty sure you can get to like 5k with Gaia or something

 

Remember, it's super fast attack if you are lucky. If you are REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY lucky, you can get max melee on all items and do about 6-8k dmg per swing with alk with super fast attack, but even a well geared lvl 40 can kill you because almost 0 health & def.

This is similar to my build (yes I am a mage) except I use parodox, concentration rings, and morph accessories. I also am using bonder with 4 tier 6 powders (I am using water because curse is op). This build is ment to kill Qira, other than that, there is not much point in using it because there are better options for mage.

 

My cancer is -99% melee, -102% spell. Total I have -79% melee, -87% spell damage.
Meteor does up to 4400 earth, 3400 fire, 4200 water.
Melee does 1300 neutral no mater, and 450-750 water damage. (Without curse)

This is by far my favorite build, stop hating on this guy.
