Speculation Stone Plates, A Different Part Of ??? And The 'unfair' Part

Alright, this thread may seem kinda unreasonable right now but I feel like I'm onto something.

So, you've probably heard about all the theories about there being pressure plates all over the map that need to be stood on to open a door somewhere, however, I feel this has been overshadowed by the whole shenanigans with Yahya's hopper and has been ignored instead of investigated and as such has not been progressed on (and also, some people have been dismissing it due to unloaded chunks, however, if the command blocks were split underneath each plate it could open something somewhere.

personally, I believe that Yahya's house may be either the first or last stage of the quest (remember, multiple stages due to the difficulty being medium) and that some plates may be part of a useful clue or another part of it, so, due to the state of this section (everyone seems to be going in circles and achieving nothing) I've just kinda shut up and looked, and I believe I have found 3 of the plates so far.

Right, so the 3 plates I've considered are:

1#: Nohno's hut
On Rooster Island, there is a small shack off to the side which was added in this update (not on the map - https://map.wynncraft.com/#/-107/64/-2444/max/0/0) and in it was a single stone plate. This may seem just like decoration, but more on that later.

2# The Ocean Islands
In the ocean there is a small group of islands (https://map.wynncraft.com/#/-883/64/-2841/-1/0/0) and on the largest one there is a house with another plate. Now, before you tell me, I know this is to help with the T3 chest... will make sense later.

3# Ancient Nemrekt
Probably the least plausible one, but worth a shot nonetheless, there is a long line of plates in AN, that leads to a hut with a chest in it, I believe one of these plates may be connected to something. (I believe the last one, a few blocks north of the hut is correct)

So, I think there are still more of them to find (I am expecting 5-6 in total), however, I will show the criteria I've been using and where I've looked so far. While I was hunting for plates the things I was looking for were it to be in a relatively inconspicuous place, an abandoned house for example, made of stone (duh), not related with any quests and it was used for another purpose (albeit small).

Ok, so the places I've searched:

-Detlas/Plains
-The Desert/Almuj
- Nemract and it's ancient counterpart
- Canyon and Rymek (There may actually be a plate here - the plate to open the exit to the weird murder room in Rymek)
- Icy area (including twain)
- most islands (besides dead, maro, halfmoon (should check this) and volcanics)
-Nivla woods (we all know what's there!)

now finally, you may be wondering why I've been looking for dual-purpose ones, and that's because i believe this it what the 'unfair' part of ??? is referring to, and that this fits the bill for the whole quest - requires a group of people, unfair and could possibly quite simple to do once all co-ords etc. are known. (I also beleive all plates are in the Wynn province as it seems any relevant discoveries have pretty much been made here.)

 

But what about the entrance to it? What even is it? Basically, what I'm saying is, what do the pressure plates do?

 

I have no clue what it could be - that's what I want to find out, however, I'm pretty sure if the players are all spread out over the map, they will get tp'ed to the opening at once , so everyone gets to see what's inside instead of one player.

 

Just a note, the quest is actually categorized as Unfair on the wiki, not Medium.
I agree that the ancient Nemerakt may not be something, but the other two don't seem like too far of a shot.

 

Yeh, ancient Nemract was more of a 'gut' thing. While exploring it I just felt like the plates were some kind of path, leading me to something, and at the end was just a plate - I just assumed it was important.

 

The problem is that I've seen a few random pressure plates while running about the map. Even in the pic in Ancient Nemract, there are a few different pressure plates.

If we were to assume that you have found all of the plates, there's at least 5-8 of them. Meaning, that there needs to be a person on each plate. I doubt that the GMs made the quest so that it requires that many people to finish, as that would be kinda hard for people trying to do the quest after it has been discovered, and the hype dies down. I already find it hard enough to find people in Detlas to open Bob's Tomb. Imagine how hard it would be for a future player to find 5-8 players (assuming there are no other pressure plates) just to open the ??? quest.

If this IS the real ??? quest, then the unfair part is getting enough people, and not the quest itself. :/


However, I will keep an eye out for other random stone pressure plates. I could be wrong.... who knows?

 

if we are to assume these play a big role, then chances are this quest will never be finished as since multiple areas have pressure plates to open something, that something can only be in one place that is not close to any one of these plates.

I agree, it could take a while, and I could be completely wrong, however, I feel the whole point of the quest is to make people think 'What if...', and honestly after searching most of Wynn (I only really have 3 or 4 islands left, the 2 jungles and time valley/piggy land left, I imagine I will be ready to give it a shot in a day or 2) I could imagine it being a pretty solid puzzle and I feel like they are the only plates that really fit the bill - inconspicuous, dual purposed (but not very much, none of them help solve puzzles, even the one with the T3 only vaguely points in the direction of it, you still have to go up the outside of the house).

It is a long shot, but I'm confident something may happen.

 

This has been my thinking for quite some time. I've never been big on yahyas house, and I hate how every time someone posts, it turns into a thread about "oh yeah throw that into yahyas house". I don't think the ancient nemract ones are related to ???, but it is possible. The other two I've found as well and I agree that they are a part of it. Id love to go searching with you, seems we have very similar thoughts on ???

 

the plate on the villager nose in the mansion at dernal jungle may be something? idk thats the only stone plate i can think of atm
