If this quest is anything like the book Ready Player One (which it is) on terms of difficulty and puzzle solving, there would be three "keys" that correspond to different locations (Yahya, Nohno, and Mehme's dwellings). Once the correct "key" is found, and used in the right location, it will open a "gate" where we will be tested. After completing the "gate", we would receive another clue to the next key's whereabouts. Upon the completion of the third gate the quest will be solved and you will be rewarded. However, each gate is increasingly difficult to solve and each key tougher to find. What I'm thinking is that each gate is at each of the three brothers' houses, and we have to find a specific item that represents or corresponds to each brother to put into the hopper. This is all just speculation, but it could be helpful during the search. Feedback would be appreciated.

The 'keys' are mushrooms, feathers or eggs, and meteor shards or something. The gate is a door obviously. As far as everything else, I think you are right.

I LOVE THIS BOOK SO MUCHHHHH I WAS THINKING THE SAME THING

Proper response after calming down for a little while:
Yeah I agree, although based on the amount of time that the admins are betting for our completion, I would guess there might only be two keys/gates. Or they don't get increasingly difficult by very much.

I think what FierceDiety is trying to say ( Or what happens in the book) is that after we unlock Yahya's room, we will get a separate item that is essentially the key. (The key isn't an item that is found around the world). Then, we take that item to another area and preform more elaborate puzzles in order to unlock the first gate (And hence, the process repeats until all gates have been cleared).

That makes a lot of sense!

I've read RP1 many times, and have participated in many ARGs. This is a very possible way that they might have gone about it. But we have yet to find one of the riddles that are so prominent in ARGs

So, I came up with this idea.
You know how Halliday kept using outside references such as dungeon and dragons and old 80's TV shows?
Well, what if the same thing applies here?
So far, the only piece of evidence we have to scrutinize is the "I lied" GIF. This is a clip of the 2005 comedy show "Wonder Showzen," so take that with a grain of salt.

An interesting idea. It deserves some looking into, but I suspect that if there is a reference chain, it will be Wynncraft References, probably forum references. We have already had Corkus referenced in the hunt, so more forum memes might show up

Bumping - what if the keys were similar to the mushroom map found on Skein's island? The other keys could be a chicken map for nohno and a meteor map for mehme. We should check out other updated areas for unusual items.
    What are your thoughts?

Yeah, these all sound reasonable key items because the mushroom map wasn't found before the update. I'll look around next time I'm online for anything like this. The only thing is that in the writing surrounding the mushroom states that the artist was not a villager (So not one of the brothers/relatives). But this could just be part of the story, and relevant later on, so I still think it's worth a shot.

Quite possible, but I would not count on it being a map. Something similar maybe
