Okay, so the whole idea of Wybels actually came from these guys.



This is a Fobby, a little grind fodder enemy from EarthBound, a quirky fun RPG. They also have their weaker pink cousins, the Foppy. They're pretty cute, but great for grinding since they come in large groups and are easy to defeat.

There exists an EarthBound fangame called Mother: Cognitive Dissonance(the japanese title of EarthBound is Mother, so). In it, Fobbies and Foppies are aliens from Jupiter, and in fact have their own little town. Entirely docile. However, if you bring a specific keycard and use it at their hotel, a secret passage opens up to a suddenly very futuristic room, in which a Fobby claiming himself to be the REAL Universal Cosmic Destroyer lies, and he kindly asks you if you want to "go defeat my phony", where the phony in this case the main antagonist of the game, Giegue/Giygas. If you say no, that you want to fight him, he engages you in a fight stronger than the final boss...while still looking like a harmless little Fobby!

I wanted to run with the idea of making a super cute, innocent species that had just the one total jerk of the bunch who turns out to be a massively tough boss, so I started brainstorming, and out came the Wybels. That's what the B in Wybel comes from; BOSS! I decided to run far with the references here, even going so far as to imitate Fobbyiyg's dialogue in the pre-fight hallway and give it a randomly futuristic, very well-hidden hideout. In this case, the whole of the Wybel species is rather docile and cuddly and affectionate, except for Mr. Orange Creamsicle there(who is orange, because Fobbies are orange, and thusly, Fobbyiyg is also orange), who is down in his lab there making disintegrator units out of flower petals and wood pulp(I mean, how do you even DO that?) and running tests on Wybels that...well, it doesn't really make them stronger, it just makes them a bit rowdier than normal. In this case, they see you fighting another Wybel, and essentially go "Ooh! Ooh! Me too, me too!" and charge at you like a pack of excited(but deadly) puppies.

He's well worth the trouble of defeating; while he doesn't drop Mythics, he drops some very strong legendary weapons; one for each class! Just, uh...don't get dead. And, for the record, Wybels are in fact aliens. Just not particularly destructive or hostile ones, except for...well, you know.

 

WELL ITS NOT EVERYDAY WHEN YOU FIND CUTE FLUFFY ANIMALS THAT WANT TO RIP YOU TO SHREDS UNLESS IT'S THAT DOG I MET AT THE VET.

 

Hold up. Legendaries??? And you still haven't told me how strong is he exactly, is it qira level?

 

I won't give stats 'til you beat him. But, uh...Lv 100+ suggested!

 

Well, back to Yahya... someone post the drops they get from defeating this guy, he's probably going to be the hardest "dungeon" until the light dungeon is released.
