Guide About The Little Asterisks ('***')

A new minor feature of the 1.14.1 Gameplay update is the possibility of being informed about the quality of a weapon, an armor/accessory, and this by looking at the number of little asterisks next to the IDs.

Now you may have noticed that these asterisks are sometime "lying", like sometime you only see 1 or 2 of them when the IDs are supposed to be maxed..
First, a lot of stats have been buffed, so its possible that your item isnt maxed anymore.
However, there is an other reason...


The other reason:

Actually, the '*' '**' and '***' are not related to a specific ID but to a roll.

As you probably know, wynncraft stock the ID of an item with a 'base' and a 'multiplier'
- You can find the base of an ID in the item guide.
- The multiplier is a number between 0.3 and 1.3 (for positive ids).
- The roll is the number you get when you multiply the base by a specific multiplier.

for example, on an item with 40 as a base, the max possible roll is 40 x 1.3 = 52

-> So, if you get this roll, the game will display '***' with the ID because it's the best possible roll


Now let's get right into the problem:

If you get the roll 1.29 :

1.29 x 40 = 51.6
The game round it up so you still get 52.

BUT in this case the roll wasn't the max possible one so you will see '**' only! That's all!


Like Salted confirmed it:

if multiplier = [ 1.01 ; 1.24 ] then *

if multiplier = [ 1.25 ; 1.29 ] then **

if multiplier = 1.3 then ***

 

i think the system is just bugged atm as salted explained how its meant to work

My salt detectors have picked up an insane amount of salt.. Or my salt detector could be broken, but I doubt it. Bought it for 3,99$ on ebay.

 

Reverse your logic, the way you have it, if roll= 1.3 the output would be *

But yeah, seems correct

I never understood the roll mechanic because of how I had 2 13% WS Stratus's, and one had (*), while the other had (***)

 

I hope you understand now :p
