So I've never actually done a multi-thread theory before, so sorry if I don't know where to start. I was hesitant to do this theory earlier because @Oryx called dibs on all the Gale and Ohms stuff, and I did not want to intrude. But I did ask him for permission to do this and I realized, as I looked more and more into the theory, it became more about Mael than about Ohms (which my autocorrect may change to Ohm's every now and then).

This thread part is going to give the general into to the theory, and the early history of the darkest of magics in Wynn. So let's begin!

    ---

Firstly I want to define the difference between "spirit" and "soul". The term "soul", as a word, I prefer much better. However in Wynncraft, it's only used twice to my knowledge. Firstly is soul points, which are a game mechanic. Second is the Prison of Souls, a boss altar near the house of twain. Any time we talk about the magic of people after death, everywhere it uses the term "spirit". So although I would much prefer to say soul, I would appreciate if the comments stocked to spirit, as it is what we will be talking about in this thread.

So let's begin with what the theory is all about, shall we? I can hardly introduce a theory without telling you what it is, now can I?

Now it started with this thread by Oryx:
    https://forums.wynncraft.com/threads/things-we-overlooked-about-gale-and-ohms-race-theory.145294/
Where we were discussing the particular of Ohms death. Sulvet then hinted at Ohms being alive, but things did not add up. On the official info thread he clearly said that Ohms did in fact die, so what's the deal? So when I asked him he said that he misspoke, but to correct himself would be too big of a spoiler, but someone was on the right path.

Now there were lots of theories, but what could cause him to be both dead and alive? Well @Leiptr on that thread, and @jpmrocks on another convo came to the same conclusion. He put his spirit into his "cursed" golem.

And the more I thought about it, the more I realized it made sense. I figured out how that's possible, how he learned that magic, why he would learn it, and so much more! So that's the theory. Let's start.

    ---------------------

So naturally things started small and simple. Ohms put his spirit in the golem to stop himself from dying. But naturally, things start to be questionable. We have no record of anyone else doing this kind of magic. Where could he learn such spirit magic, only being a thunder Mage?

Unable to awnser this, I turned to the golems curse. At the time I thought the only other curse we see is Nilrem's curse (chest plate) in nessak (I know remembered there's other cursed stuff in the dark forest) but I soon forgot about the chestplate when I remembered that nessak is so close to the twain manor, and that Mael lived there.

Now if you are unfamiliar with the twain lore, it was written by Grian before the wipe. They recently added it to the game itself in the beta, as discussed in this thread:
    https://forums.wynncraft.com/threads/the-noble-house-of-twain.147195/
I also want to point out that this was found in Lueso, that's important for later.

And although you can just read that thread, I want to specificly point out some things. The magic used back before the corruption is labeled as "dark" which reminds me of Dern. But dark, as we know, has another meaning in the element system. Sulvet said very clearly that thunder was the stand in element for evil stuff. Which would fit very well with this dark spirit magic.

Oh and remember! Ohms is a thunder Mage. Connection? Perhaps. But hardly enough to confirm that he put his spirit in a golem. So as I did not have my computer at the time, I asked @Rujala (he saves my but yet again!) to go and fight the boss from the house of twain quest to see what element he is. Lo and behold, the ghost of Mael Twain is thunder based. Which considering all we've learned about this spirit magic (which is not much) seems to fit.

So if he could somehow teach Ohms spirit magic, who is also thunder based more the elements would fit together, would they not?

And look at the geography. We know Ohms lab is in Luesco. We see all the golems and we have been told by staff. And if it's close enough to have been frozen over when nessak was, it's defenetly not a stretch to say it's a good place to hang out if you have business at the twain manor.

AND that library with the twain lore was found in Luesco. So all together, everything is starting to fall into place.

We certainly have enough to connect them, but not enough to say that Mael thought Ohms. Nor why he would want to learn.

For that we would need their motives which are...

Coming in part 2 which I will write when I have the chance but I start school tomorrow.

    ---

I know. I did not say very much. Why am I even splitting this into multiple parts? Because when I'm done, it I will be way too big for one thread, meaning I am cutting it into mini threads. Make sense?

Cool. I would love to hear what you think in the comments. Also if you think you know what their motives are that I'm gonna put in part 2, feel free to say those as well!

I took the time to do a bit of revising and editing for you. I hope you appreciate the effort.

As for the theory... It sounds plausible. Let's see how well it matches the actual storyline. That is, whenever the ever-so-over-committed @Selvut283 is satisfied enough to release it.

The whole point of the house of twain is that Marius took the children there so they could be away from other people, as the House of Twain is in an area where no one else lives.
Additionally, Mael's boss is in the house of Twain according to the OP.

The boss is the corrupted ghost of Marius Twain, not Mael.

The altar is the Prison of Souls, not the Well of Souls.

Thunder element is not necessarily automatically evil, it is simply used as a designated stand-in for evil since we do not have a Dark/Light element.

I almost feel as though you made this theory simply because Mael rhymes with Gale.
