the thing is last time people were added to the rp crazily it was fucking chaotic
there weren't any rules to it so it was basically "do whatever you want to do, make sure to type in the correct color and quirk and here's a bowl of ice cream"
i understand aj not wanting more people to be added this time, since the last thing we need is a repeat of the last rp
and you're not really missing anything at the moment since jack shit is going on in there since some of us still haven't introduced our characters (me included)
i mean fuck there are some people that i really want to see in the rp right now but i don't think they'll be added for awhile at least

 

the problem is what makes homestuck so good is all the random shit

The first RP sort of started off as a 'Let's group all the people with Ikimaru pictures into one convo', which became irrelevant after I made this thread which sort of became the purpose of it. However, we were able to springboard off of the name and communication fashion of it into an RP. However, whilst having a rainbow of profile pictures is nice, it was complete chaos. You could post something, say for example, hitting Caliborn in the head with a lead pipe, only to have someone post just a millisecond before where they put an anti-lead pipe helmet on Caliborn. Not only that, but the idea was similar to the current RP, but it was impossible to actually progress. It was exactly the same as a Past Karkat and Future Karkat conversation: Lots of talking, but nothing actually getting done.

As I've read, the 'randomness' at the beginning of Homestuck (what with user submitted commands) made Homestuck itself incredibly hard to tell, as from Hussie himself. When Hussie took over around Act 4, Homestuck became a lot better quality and was able to tell an actual story.

I mean, could you imagine the scenario of 'You are Dave, you're stuck on a meteor for three years. What do you do?'? Or worse yet, 'You are Rose, you're on a date with Kanaya and you're incredibly drunk. What do you do?'?

 

You make a good point. In the current rp, are you "filling in" for Hussie? (As in leading everyone through a main plotline.)

The RP will be quite loose, and story progression will most likely be slow, however there is a general plot which will run through 'Acts' (aren't I clever?) which will dictate the events.

Act 1 - A whole new old world.
Trolls and Humans exploring new old Earth, Alternia and Beforus
Act 2 - Sburb: The Squeakquel
Trolls and Humans acquiring Sburb 2
Act 3 - Reckon it's the Reckoning?
The reckoning happens (again)
Act 4 - Adventure Time
Trolls and Humans explore their planets.
Act 5 - Gods amoung men.
Trolls and Humans get god tier.
Act 6 Act 1 - The African-American King
Black King fight.
Act 6 Act 2 - There's always a bigger fish
Lord English makes a re-entrance.
Act 6 Act 3 - Familiar Space Rock.
Journey to Lord English
Act 7 - Finle
Hopefully a less shitty ending.

It was a reference to Game Grumps' playthough of 'Sonic and the Black Knight', wherein they're asked at one point to be politically correct and call it 'Sonic and the African American Knight'

Not currently, and I don't intend to once we get rolling. Those who show great roleplaying talent with their character have a chance to be added in, however; though this is not 100% certain.
