    Hi my name is SPETO12349 and i'm making a statistic about which weapon do they prefer sword(less damage and shorter cooldown) or axe (more damage and longer cooldown)?

    Axe. The sweep ability isn't as useful and the mcmmo plugin lets you do crushing blows. I played skyblock a lot, so when I was face to face with the usual zombie, an axe was pretty good. But when you're doing PVP, sharpness comes in play as a pretty good enchantment. Overall, I think I'm going with bow. get 360 noscoped creepers

    Axe, even though the sword is better, since it can get fire aspect, looting and knockback, and doesn't require books for sharpness.
    The main reason is since slower and stronger attacks fit my playstyle more, and it combines 2 tools into one, saving on inventory space.
    The axe should really be able to get those enchants, it makes no sense why it can't.

    Axe- 1.9+ is great on the axe. Easy chopping down tress, is annoying to go against on mineplex.
    Sword- Still awesome, does most damage from 1.8 and down. I like to use one in Hypixel.

    I'm neutral, but it would be good to keep both on you considering Swords can be used for quick attacks and crows control, and Axes are good for dealing heavy damage, and can negate shields.

    On servers with MCMMO I prefer the axe, but on any other server or single player I prefer the sword.

    play any fighting game (smash bros, street fighter etc) and in 99% of them the 'slow but strong' philosophy is always trash tier

    but in mc they disable shields so theyre a fucking requirement.

    I realyl dont agree with everyone's opinion above.

    Logically, Swords are better. They have a higher DPS than Axes,
    Theres a video which explains some basic math of it: (SHOWN BELOW) (Its for a hacking allowed server so ignore the stuff after the beginning)
    AXE DPS: 6hps
    SWORD DPS:8hps
    (Even with critical hits swords are better)

    However, with MCMMO axes can do up to 4 bonus damage, smash armor faster, and do AOE attacks. so its viable on Mcmmo servers.
    Vanilla however, Go sword.
