The drop rate it 1 in 1,000,000 or it you get lucky and get one out of a chest.

The forums says 0.0007% chance from a mob, but this is actually incorrect. On the day Gavel was released, there was a bug which showed item chances in chat, and the chances for items actually chance every couple of seconds.

I have a screenshot of what I mean here, but I don't know the chances for chests:




As you can see, Mythic chances are actually much higher than 0.0007%. Legendaries are also 5x rarer than Rares, and you'll get a normal about every 15-40 mobs you kill.

 

It's 0.0007% so that's 0.7/100.000 which means you have to kill about 142k mobs for the chance to get one mythic.
