Reaction/Discussion Swarms

So I'm really interested in the Swarms. I'm guessing the CT found a way to make it less laggy?

 

I CANT WAIT FOR IT

 

I presume they found a foolproof way, though they did say it wasn't a 100% yes....

 

couldn't this just be a post on the actual changelog thread / a profile post?
but yes i'd assume they found a way to make them less laggy, i don't see why they would be added again if they were still laggy

 

I've never participated in swarms before so this will be my first time with them! So I'm pretty excited myself!

 

I joined Wynncraft after swarms, so I have a minimal idea of what they are and how they work. All I know is people apparently used to die a ton because of them.

 

Didn't you notice the "Reaction/Discussion" tag? This is a "discussion" about Swarms.

 

Swarms use to be the best back in the day and would give you a very good amount of exp so this is probably my second favorite thing in this update besides specials.

I've only been in two swarms. They were both a long time ago, shortly after 1.12. For the first one I lagged out. The second one, while I didn't lag out, was rather lackluster. With the newer and much more laggy blood, I probably wouldn't even be able to participate in one.

 

I remember when the Gavel update released they said added something which allowed huge groups of mobs to not cause server lag, probably using armor stands or something, I'm sure this is how they'll be able to re-implement swarms without having to worry about lag as much....

 

Sounds like a fair challenge!

 

Pfffft. Only 300? What kind of new swarms are these!

(I was not around for first swarms, but assume they were against millions of mobs, with lotr music playing constantly)

Oh really it's not, super laggy, another bug in swarms are we took no damage. Unless everyone was just killing the mobs before they got to me xD

 

O yeah...that's a bug, but there's no issue with 300 mobs a second.

 

Yeah no issue in that, the players kept killing more than a hundred per second so that's fine but the lag isn't xD

What are swarms

I think I was around when swarms were happening but I never participated in one or never knew how to
please help me out -_-

 

You first joined in March 2015, that was after swarms were removed so it wouldn't have been possible for you to enter a swarm but here's what a swarm is,

Swarms are giant groups of mobs that attack a city and a message is displayed when you're nearby one, swarms give a good amount of experience and are good for leveling up. That's the basic story of what a swarm is. I'm sure someone else will give a more in depth explanation.
