Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Whoa, caves? Sounds like an adventure!" I say happily.

 

"You could come down too, I guess. Just don't kill any wind dragons. They're pretty scared right now."

 

"Oh, are they your friends or something?" I ask.

 

"Yes and no. The thing you helped us kill was massacring them, and there are dozens of wind dragons who starved to death in the caves."

 

"Wow...well, as long as they don't hurt me, I won't hurt them." I say.

 

"I'm pretty sure they're too weakened to hurt you. Don't worry about that count."

 

"Hmm, alright. So what's the plan?" I ask.

 

"Get any survivors out into daylight, then get them food."

 

"Alright, will do," I say, "What do they like to eat?"

 

"Meat; that and metal."

 

"Got it." I say, drawing Shadow Katana.

 

"Not us." She growls.
"Find a fish or something."

 

"I wasn't intending to harm you, I was just showing I was ready." I say, slightly offended.

 

"Sorry. It's just... We've been terrorized by a shadow before. Lisa keeps the dust of their remains in Max's fur; you can't even tell the difference between that and the dirt on him, though..."

 

"Really? I thought Shadows didn't exist in this world. What was it like?" I ask.

 

"Definitely abnormal; our population was halved before they made the mistake of attacking Keila directly."

 

"Hmm...do you know anyone who could have summoned this Shadow? Say, someone who uses dark magic? It's clear they were summoned on a genocide mission." I say.

 

"No idea. I'm glad you weren't..."

 

"I probably would have killed the summoner if I was. I used to take contracts for fun and then kill whoever summoned me." I say happily.

 

"Remind me never to call on you." Rina utters nervously.
