Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"By people I meant a shadow and several guardians."

The only things around are mutilated bodies and rocks.

 

"Huh. Never heard of those. Guess you've got your own set of problems. What'd they do to you?"

"Well, you're certainly capable of more than that. I'd hold off on retirement if I were you."

 

"Retirement is basically saying you're old and going to die soon. I just want to do whatever I want to really." I say happily.

 

"Not neccesarily. There are always outlier cases. Besides, I'd assume a shadow has a longer lifespan than a human."

 

"We're supposedly immortal; because none of us have died of old age yet." I say, chuckling.

 

"Well, then, retirement wouldn't mean the end of your years, would it?" Rina laughs.

 

"Yeah, that's true. But retirement just sounds so...ugly. I want to stay young forever; or at least keep a young form." I say, laughing.

 

"As a shapeshifter, I think you could manage that!" Rina replies, smiling.

 

"Yeah, that's true; but holding a different form sort of saps your energy." I say.

 

"Surely you or your friends know magic that could help counteract that?"

 

"Well, sort of. It's fine though, I'm happy as I am." I say happily.

 

"That's good! Glad you have things planned out, unlike Lisa..." Rina laughs, trailing off.

 

"So how much longer until we get there?" I ask.

 

"They've sort of just...ruined my life. This is my third reincarnation, and half my soul is missing."

 

"Just a few minutes. Claire's taking her time."

"You could always seek a new life far away from them."

 

"Alright." I say, laying back.

 

"It's not worth the hassle. Once I've learned things I should not have learned, there is never a chance to back away."

 

After a while, Claire stops above a few islands.

"Memory erasure?"

 

"Where are we?" I ask.

 

"The Wild Islands. Mother's going to see if Eras is okay down in the caves."
