    that's just normal 1.9 textures, if it bothers you just use 1.8

    What is the issue that isn't there?

    Also, if you see the 1.9 texture error (assuming that is the issue as guessed earlier), just /lobby and try again. If that doesn't work, relog on to the server.

    You could play on 1.8 if you realy wanted to tho.

    All I see here is improvement.

    Is it odd that I like the hand-held textures of weapons in 1.9 better than 1.8?

    I don't really know, I just use 1.8.0 since it works just fine. 1.9 is weird and 1.10 makes my Apocalypse take up half my screen....
    I also use Optifine because its amazing on doing everything that Notch (and now Microsoft) forgot to do.

    I use 1.8.9 optifine, but it's still 1.8, just with bug fixes and security fixes

    I don't use 1.9.0+ or 1.10.0+ versions
