    ❉ ✤ Moist Grandmother ✤ ❉
    ❉ An Earth / Water Build ❉

I recently got my hands on a Grandmother (this thread is going to be sounding dirty as fuck by the end of it) and I was wondering why I never saw anybody use it. All I see Archers and Hunters wielding these days are AZ, Spring, and Freedom. Not a single Granny in the bunch.

People argued with me that Petrified Horror was way better than Grandmother, even though I still never saw a Petrified Horror used in battle or in general, but I can see why people might like it :

    The Good
    • Petrified Horror has almost always better % Spell damage than Grandmother
    • It has a Thunder and Earth damage buff, while Grandmother has none
    • It has "better" health regen
    • It's waaaaaay cheaper to buy and way easier to find than a Mythic, and thereby easier to get maxed
    • ..It has Exploding I guess
But when you start to consider the coming update, you have to ask yourself "Well what if I want to tweak my favourite Earth / Thunder bow ?"
And this is where you can start to see the flaws that are beginning to pop in...

    The Bad
    • Petrified Horror has one powder slot less than Grandmother
    • It also has a slight defense drop
    • Harsher speed penalty
    • Less base Earth damage than Grandmother (I'm sure it won't matter on average with the IDs though)
    • The 140 Skill points requirement as opposed to 100 for Grandmom
    The Ugly
    • The 15% average damage debuff on every other element than Earth / Thunder
    • It has a HUGE intelligence drop, that rivals Monster's worst by 6
Truth is, I don't think Petrified Horror is a bad weapon in itself, but compared to Grandmother, and with this update coming up, I just think Grandmother is a way more flexible weapon with fewer drawbacks and a less harsh gimmick than Petrified Horror.

I already tried it in the past, and personnaly, I couldn't stand having 70 skill points wasted in Dexterity, especially with mana being so scarce thanks to the -15 Intelligence drop on average :/

Well, let's get on with the build I thought about anyways!
Keep in mind that, since I'm level 98, I can't wear the hive boots or Pisces yet

    Armour

    Pisces
    [IMG]

Pisces was the obvious choice for this build. It is the best endgame helmet for Earth / Water elements, can provide both damage (Elements, Melee and Spell) and give you mana regen to support your onslaugth.
I don't think anything else needs to be said :P

    Azurite
    [IMG]

"a unique wtf is wrong with u"
I'll admit it's a bit of a stretch, but honestly, this is the best gear I could find for an Earth / Water build.
It provides decent spell damage, as well as skill points buffs, but sadly no mana regen.
If you want to use anything other than that though, feel free, and tell me if you find something better :P

    Marsh Waders
    [IMG]

I honestly didn't know what to use for this one, but then I realised I needed mana regen to make this build a little bit effective if you happen to miss a shot. So instead of wasting 30 skill points in Agility by wearing Crystal, I put these on. They provide a little less Mana Regen than Crystal, but they also add Water Damage and Strength buffs, which fits the build really nicely.
As an alternative option, if you want to minimize the loss in defense and gain 1/4s mana, you can use Ley Lines at level 82.

    Gaea-Hewn Boots
    [IMG]

For this choice, I went with the idea that I needed a bit of melee "oompf" to be effective in the next update. These boots provide elements that are perfect for using only Arrow Bomb, which is the main goal of this set. I can't wear them right now, obviously, but I can't wait to be able to show you the final damage output these will give me.

    Concentration
    [IMG]

Well, this one is self explanatory. Who doesn't love Mana Regen ?

    Rockworm
    [IMG]

This one was put in this build because I wanted to still remain strong in melee without sacrifying spell damage.
You can also alternatively use a Druid's Ring is you want to just boost your Earth AND Water Damage.

    Foam Bracer
    [IMG]

Extra Spell damage and Water damage, principaly.
Then again, if you have a better accessory choice, don't be shy to say it, I was having trouble choosing these in the first place :P

    Golemus Core
    [IMG]
AND THIS ONE. This Golemlus Core (Hive Earth Amulet) gives you a better durability since it helps to decrease the life sucking that your Grandmother will love to do to you. If you have the best debuff on Grandmother, this single Amulet can counter it down to 50% of the original life drain!

    GrandMother
    [IMG]

♥ My Granny is the best ♥

Other Options for level 95-100 :
    • Fenmask for Helmet at level 81 (good mana regen, spell damage and element buffs)
    • Snail Boots at level 94 (best health regen to counter nanny's sucking)
    • Grandfather if your Grandmother is feeling lonely and too withered for her age

SKILL POINTS RAW at level 100:
    • Earth ✽ 94
    • Water ❉ 67
    • Fire ✸ 33
    SKILL POINTS FINAL :
    • Earth ✽ 128
    • Water ❉ 70 | 4 Mana used per Arrow Bomb
    • Fire ✸ 33
Damage so far before powders :
    • Melee hit : 1800-2000 < click pls
    • Creeper Dart : 6900-7400 (bugged, doesn't have the neutral damage which would be adding another 2k imo)
    • Dagger Aura : 9000-11000 (nerf arrow shield pls)
    • Bolt Blizzard : 10000-17000 (not screenshotting this mess)
    • Spider Jump Stomp : 3000-3500

    Powder Talk
Now, for the powders, I'm preparing to use 2 Water Powders (tier VI obviously) for my Grandmother to trigger the special Curse effect (which will double the damage) and to put the rest in powders.
Since Grandmother is waaaay more flexible than Petrified Horror, you can use it in conjonction with almost any other element, my other personnal favourite would be an Earth / Fire Grandmother, so you can be tanky and use melee as your principal attack.

But personnaly, I'd rather get some Water powder on my armour to trigger the water specials on them (More damage per mana used), since you're going to be burning a lot of mana for maximum damage output.

Well that's it for this build that I keep dreaming about (who doesn't love Moist Grandmas tbh), feel free to tell me what I fucked up, toodles.

Pisces/Azurite on archer is usually way to go xD.

Hive boots are a great choice as well.

Use a secondary bow with walk speed and hp regen and switch to it whenever you arent fighting and its gucci.

Marsh waders kinda pissed me off when i used them myself. Air weakness is absolutely terrible since air itself's only weakness is raw damage output. Honestly id rather ley lines or perhaps elder oak roots.

Instead of rockworm, i think malachite is a better fit.

^Woops well I'll change that right away then, thanks

I'm using an Impeccable Granite Bow at the moment, I plan on buying a Traveler to counter the negative walk speed of the armour :P
Malachite has raw spell and melee damage, doesn't have earth damage and has the same skill points buff, so idk why it would fit better :/
Elder Oak Roots has a drop in Defense which is annoying in conjonction with the hive boots, I've thought about that as well :/
And yeah, Ley Lines has more Mana Regen but will drop the damage output of the water element, I can add it to the other options, since it's viable, it just depends on what you'd prefer : survivability or damage output.

    Thanks for your input :D

I died by the end of this thread. You can use Wolf Bow to switch to to counter grandma's life sucking. And with that you could use crash or a royal dusty amulet for more spell and melee damage. And a watch bracelet could also be used in the place of the foam bracer.

I know it exists but I never understood how %regen works as opposed to raw, so :/
I'd rather make my main elements (Earth, Water and Fire) as strong as possible. Sure, if I get a Watch Bracelet, I get a nice boost of 5% for each element, but my 8% spell damage on the Foam Bracer will work (afaik) on all the elements of my spells, and give me a neat boost of 6% in water :P
It's a possibility, but after spending time in the nether, I'd rather have a bit of damage missing for the chance of a second bomb to bypass those agility fuckers .-.

If Tisaun's Valor is available, I think that would be better for this build than Azurite, as it gives health regen, spell and melee damage at the cost of speed, which is kind of dead with this build already
