What are you on about? Those quests have the same quality level as Fantastic Voyage and Beyond the Grave.
I'm sure part three will be released with 100x the hay bales and 100x the log book pages. Man, hours of fun gameplay right there.

 

This is broken logic right here, you need to tell us what part of your quest is "so epic and groundbreaking" in the GM app somehow, it's very possible. It's not like you're limited to what you can put on your app.
Plus, even if this was true, is this even a bad thing? We're looking for quests that obviously have potential and people that do know how have adapted knowledge in quests/mobs/items. It's not our fault you can't put your vision into words, its what we had to do before we had cut scenes. Express it, you can put images on your app, you know. The point of GM apps is to let us know that you have a foundation of knowledge on items/mobs/quests from playing our game/doing research, so that you can make a quest that is so robust, even the most critical GMs would say they liked your app. It really isn't our fault if you can't properly imagine a GM app, tons of people get denied for a reason.

 

Being able to pitch an idea is as important as having an idea. The point of the GM application from my view isn't for us to solicit new ideas for quests (people already do that in the general suggestion section) but to find people who are good at coming up with ideas. The quest you come up with is not important in and of itself - it is just a way to see how creative you are.

If you think you have the greatest idea in the world, that's great, but you'll never get anyone on board with your idea unless you can explain the idea itself without acting upon it. This goes for when you are a GM, or even outside the minecraft world. You may have the best idea in the world for a brand new product, but unless you can actually talk about the idea and make it come across as great to others, no one is going to want to fund your project.

GM applications show a few things - that you can communicate ideas well, that you are creative, and that you can follow instructions. All of these are valuable as a GM.

 

So I can make a really bad fetch quest, but as long as i explain it in a ton of detail i have a chance to get accepted?

 

I agree with this 100% the best way to learn about someones full potential is by putting them in the field and showing them. A single picture is worth 1 million words. In this case a demonstration. GM applications should be physical.

 

Yes, but basic fetch quests doesn't show your abilities and creativity. Unless this fetch quest is made out of unicorn poop and fairy dust, GMs won't be impressed by your work. How are you going to pitch your idea of such a basic and boring quest? It's not that simple. "GM applications show a few things - that you can communicate ideas well, that you are creative" No matter how convincing you are you will never be able to get the position you want, due to the lack of creativity.

As Ackro pointed out, no. Pitching the idea may be important, but the content of the quest itself is just as important. You have to be able to do both.

 

Doesnt GM require programming a crap ton of Command Blocks as well?

 

That would take forever seeing as how many people apply :).
