I am all for expressing your opinion on the game and such. But I don't like that you're trying to give an opinion on something that doesn't even have a changelog yet.

All I am going to say is, please wait for the update try it out then talk about it. Because what you're doing right now is pretty foolish to me.

Please explain how Wynn D is easy for a level 70 with no friends.

No, you haven't, they're not out, unless you mean other dungeons.

Wat. The door is open, wait for the update.

No, Wynn is fun. Start a new class for crying out loud.

Maybe that's true, but if people are saying that it's hard, and I've played other mmorpgs to know how hard it gets, and based on how the difficulties have increased from my experience, I can safely say that it will be hard, and a 3-4x mob boost and a 2x quest boost won't make it easy. What you are saying is after these boosts getting to level 100 will be really easy, then I'll take your word for it. But so far everybody on this thread has opposed you.[/QUOTE]

I do agree with some things, and I appreciate how instead of just ranting about it, you provided your opinion and how to solve it.

If you think that Wynncraft is going to shit, instead of making a rather rash rant with weak arguments, maybe you should leave or take a break instead of coming to the forums and seeing if other people agree with you in a very rash fashion.

And, as other people mentioned, wait for the damn update before jumping to conclusions in your rant.

That's not how it works, if you think something is wrong, maybe give your reasons on why it's wrong in a more nicer fashion with factual evidence, because:
Most of these suggestions may sound to you good in the short run, but think about the effect of these suggestions in the long run

This is how you want Wynncraft to be, but it's not what the admins want Wynncraft to be, you may find it more fun, but think about the whole playerbase, would they find it fun, I don't think they would. Because I think this version of Wynncraft you want to exist will hurt it more than help it.

.... Besides, are you really sure every single mob is going to give 3-4x the XP? Because if I recall, almost a week ago in the shoutbox, Selvut said that level 40+ mobs, when the update releases, will drop an average of 150 XP, and currently, they drop around 100 XP. That's only a 1.5x XP boost, which nullifies a part of your rant about the mob XP boost, which leads me to believe that the 3-4x mob XP boost comes in at level 85+. (Of course, I will not be hard on you for not knowing this, as I'm sure you weren't online at the time Selvut said that)

And, I see no mentioning of the fact that even though quests will give double the XP they used to, XP bombs will no longer effect quests, which leads me to believe that you didn't know of the XP bomb change while making this rant, of course, I could be wrong.

And, the 2x quest XP boost would probably mainly effect higher-leveled quests just like the mob XP, besides, it's probably not even exactly 2x for all the quests, Qira Hive will probably give 2 Million XP in the update instead of 1.2 million XP, that's not a 2x boost at all, but, again, I could be wrong.

    And, I'll say it again:
Wait for the damn update to release before making rash statements like these.

If you want a challenge, instead of making the game harder in all the wrong reasons by not dealing with one of Wynn's biggest problems (high-leveled grinding) and pissing people off, just only use Normal/Unqie-tier stuff if you really want to.

Time for my take on this.

    gastersuspicious.png

What are you on about? Mobs that are any more than 34 levels above you give 0 XP. Mobs farther from your level, even just by one, get an XP penalty. For instance, something I bet no one has really noticed, the Corrupter of Worlds gives 4100 XP on average(4000-4200). But, for someone at Lv 68, it's only going to give something like 165 XP because of the fall-off. In addition, the grind for people is horrendous at later levels. That rate you mentioned is with full XP gear, which not everyone can obtain, and not everyone can spare hours on end for the game.

    gasterannoyed.png

WynnExcavation Site D, an easy quest... You've fought Fully Formed Amadel, right? Plus, not every single quest has been changed to give double XP. The way it works is, like the new mobs XP, it was given a new curve that has given a general increase that is approximately a 2x boost. However, some quests that already gave boosted XP, against the curve, such as WynnExcavation Site D and the Tower of Ascension, were changed less-so, or in some cases, nerfed. And, not every single quest exactly gives double. For instance, when there are multiple quests of the same level, often the XP will be reduced even though it goes against the curve. Since there are more than one to complete, it balances out. Using WynnExcavation is an awful example that just makes it seem like we're going "Herp de durr, double xp everything, Gert so smart!" We actually planned for this sort of stuff, you know.

    gasterthinking.png

So, you want the ridiculously punishing design back?

    gasterashamed.png

I'm genuinely confused here. Those dungeons were often difficult because they were simply unforgiving and badly done.

Knockback skeletons on one-block parkour? I mean, seriously. If I've learned anything from MegaMan, it's that enemies in precision platforming sections are awful.

The Zombie dungeon still has hordes of zombies, you're just punished less for failure, and what you would be punished for failing is easier anyhow. Can you name, say, three people who enjoyed the original Zombie Dungeon parkours? The piston-retracting bridge was plain awful, far too difficult, and Dungeon Bones(another variety of knockback skeleton in the ZOMBIE dungeon) often spawned near the actual parkour segment and knocked you away with nothing you could do about it.

The Animal dungeon was accidentally made unforgiving with the update due to not being calculated and re-designed for fall damage. We don't need any more hordes of mobs to punish you for failing; we've already got the Angry Cows and Angry Sheep/Chickens waiting to pounce on you if you fall and survive. Plus, the silverfish were rather unfitting in the ANIMAL dungeon..

The only dungeon I do wish had more hordes was the Silverfish Dungeon, and even then the new design is leagues better than the old, as with all of the new dungeons. In addition, you say the dungeons are shorter now. That is anything but the case. The increase in scale most certainly did come with an increase in length. Saying otherwise is simply not true. You're looking through nostalgia glasses, I think.

    gasterthinking.png

Wouldn't this be not working on provinces enough? The Mesa, I agree with you there, but you'd be surprised at just how small the place is. the way it's designed, there isn't much room -for- content, and even that will hopefully be remedied, at least somewhat. And, I'm assuming you forgot about Tribal Aggression. However small it may be, it's still in the Mesa.

Elkurn hasn't got much to warrant a quest there. What would it even be? There's nothing remotely hostile in that area, what would the quest even be? It's in a really awkward spot. I do agree that it should have something, but it doesn't necessarily need a quest. Just something to warrant stopping there.

The Ice Canyon, though, had much more room for content. Even then, the Tower of Ascension filled up most of the usable space(check the map; it's extremely close to both the House of Twain, the Great Bridge, AND the Dernel Jungle) so it only really had space for one more quest. So, both areas have two quests. Besides that, they're both in the areas that the Gavel Province picks up at. No more content was made for those areas because 1) there wasn't much room and 2) it was being taken care of elsewhere.

    gastersuspicious.png

It isn't that we aren't working on the province, it's just that you think our priorities are skewed.
    gasternervous.png

This punishes you for leveling up and not getting better gear. Even increasing the XP as we do, the challenge of -getting the gear- to match your level still remains. This isn't a flaw with the game, either. As my Lv 85 Assassin, I'm still using Bladestorm and Wayfinder, a Lv 65 and 74 dagger, respectively, due to the loot system. Yes, it'd being adjusted to match the faster pace, but finding the gear you want is part of the challenge when levelling, and reducing your health as you level up punishes the player for not being able to cope with a core mechanic.

    gasterbored.png

All in all, very few of your points appear to be anything more than just baseless complaints and the game going in a direction you think will be bad in your own view. Wait until the update actually comes out to start making your judgment, please. More thought goes into these decisions than you seem to want to give credit for.

    zgasterangry3.png

And I can assure you, difficulty will come in time.

I agree and disagree with some of your points.

I agree that there should be more lore for some of the towns. I am biased in that regard; I love lore. I love reading and telling stories, and I believe Wynncraft has a lot of potential for that. I'm sure that will be changed in the future, and I ask that you be patient so that the Content Team isn't pressured into early delivery. I want to talk more about content delivery later on, but first let me address the part I disagree with.

Speaking personally, I have commitments for 8-9 hours of the day most of the week. I need to commit to these because ti is necessary for my living. As a result, I have very little time for my hobbies, such as Wynncraft. And, while I don't mind grinding, it often means I won't be able to see the rewards of my work for a very long time. Grinding isn't that bad for me, but it also takes longer for me to enjoy the fruits of my labors.

With the added XP bonuses, this helps quite a bit. I can enjoy the game at a faster pace, so it feels like I'm not going slow. I can see my character progress as well, even in the short amount of time I have to play the game. I still have to grind, but it's less. Moreover, it is frustrating when I'm doing a quest, and I die in the middle of it. Because I do not have much time to play, this means I might have wasted time for no reward. With the added XP system, it makes it more worthwhile to keep going and be less frustrated, at least in my case.

I can see how you might say I should try and get better at the game, but that takes time. It would happen for me, but I'm not as good at the game as some people, and the amount of time I have to play is much shorter. In the end, I might give up the game for something less challenging, more rewarding, and consequently more fun. I don't want to be punished for my lack of skill, especially when this is only a hobby for me. I want to get better, true, but in a way that ins't too frustrating. I hope you understand.
    __________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Now, about content delivery. I will admit that delivery on a product is difficult. Sometimes consumers will constantly push for something they want, and in the end the content creator has to choose which people they need to satisfy first, while still keeping to the core aspects and vision of their product. That means sometimes you can't give some people what they want, and those people will be very upset, whether or not it is justified. This is especially prevalent in software development, and the pressure from pushy customers can be a constant source of stress.

Thank you for reading all of this. I appreciate the time you spent. Hopefully we both will get what we want out of this update.
