A Review Of The Hide And Seek Event

hm you said you'd be writing the hints :3 oh well good job to the others too.

 

I joined wc when the third round had just started, read the hint, and quit, mainly because my brain was fried(early morning), and, I basically never explore. Probably for the better, looking at the two threads made on this topic.

 

I wonder if wynn was the location of interest, the event would have been any different.

 

I guess I should be happy I didn't join in because in shit at riddles and haven't explored gavel at all besides letvus airbase and molten heights lmao

 

probably, although there are many islands that still count as in wynn (iirc) so

 

I didn't use the map one single time and know almost every place just a sec too late xD

 

We scrapped some locations and added new ones, and we also decided on adding "second" hints. So we needed a lot more hints but I got busy with the update. (And a bit lazy too :P)

 

As a winner, these hints were difficult, but not impossible. (Also, oddly enough the rounds I did best on were the second and last ones, the ones that people say were the hardest) Remembering this thread is pretty much the only reason I won. Though people would have figured it out quickly anyways. Thanks @Endertricity I really do owe you something. But yeah, the serverslots were a problem. Not nearly enough people who wanted to could join in (also people who knew the location could not join the correct server to receive their prize). Fix that, and the event would have gone much better. This was still a fun event for those who were able to participate, just not as many people who wanted to join could join. I would still want there to be more events like this in the future if more people could join in.
Tldr. Hints were fine, just server space was an issue. Keep doing events in the future and this could easily become something the community eagerly looks forward to.

 

Not counting most of the islands of course.

I was expecting riddles that would take longer than 15 minutes to solve considering that the reward is LITERALLY MAKING AN ITEM.
I should have been able to come for the last round, but oh look, the riddles were too easy so it ended an hour early -_-

Now some of this I agree and disagree with.

I Agree to: The servers. They should have had a separate set of event servers . Now, this actually might be too hard for the mods to achieve so that's is understandable. (They are mods. Not admins) Also, I was able to participate in every round. It's not that hard, just add the mods to your friend's list. I also Somewhat agree with the portion about the riddles. They were hard, but not impossible. I do think they should have made them short and sweet instead of long and complicated (for example the riddles for round 2 here, and here). For round 2 (even though I did get a prize this round, somehow) the riddles were COMPLETELY contradictory. The first hint said in open air and hot. (A LOT of people were in/on top of molten heights, including myself) From what I remember, no one got close to any mods until the picture was sent as the last hint and then it still took a while for people to find the underground lava parkour maze thing. (which was actually really cool. I never knew that was there)

I disagree to: Basically everything else. I found this event really fun and look forward to new and improved events in the future. Now you might be saying "Wow it was only fun to you because you won something" This is not true. My reward was a single LE. I am grateful, but not something to get mad over not getting.

All in all I loved this event and hope for more soon™!

You know what's something I've noticed about the content team? Whenever they receive criticism, they always defend themselves and their reasons. Why can't they just say sorry and just hold in their damn pride? They make situations worse for themselves and it's so hard to watch.

I actually had quite a fun time running around the map, I was able to get to the one near Cinfras, molten heights, and hive without hints. And while I needed he picture hint for bucie, I was one of the first if not the first to pick up that it was in the lava maze, but I died too often on the parkour to reach pretzule. While i didn't find the exact locations of those, I had the general idea of where they were, and for #5 I crashed mc so. I felt all the hints were fine in their regard.
