Pre ??? Revamp Thoughts (let Me Know What You Think!)

Hello everyone. So after reading the newest changeblog, I was brainstorming some ideas as to how we might be able to conquer the new "???" quest in a timely manner, while also focusing on the community aspect of things. What I came up with was this:

If Gavel was broken down into into portions, and a few people were assigned to each portion, Then we could cover all of Gavel without the need for individuals to have to run all across Gavel. I've done some math below, and if we had 50 people broken into 25 groups (so each group is 2 people) each group would have a 438 x 438 area to cover, which seems reasonable to me.

Gavel is 4000 x 1200 blocks (roughly). 4000 x 1200 = 4800000
4800000/25 = 192000
√192000 = 438.17

438 x 438 portions for 25 groups of 2 people.

If anyone finds something wrong in my math, or has something else to consider let me know.

Now the reason I think everyone should be paired up is in case one person misses something or is unsure if they have found a hint or not, they can talk to their buddy about it and work things out. The other benefit of this is you will have someone to explore with, and you might just end up making a good friend out of it all!

After you and your partner have scanned your area fully, one of you would reply to a main thread in the new section of the forum, with anything you've found. (For those of you that don't already know, there will be a new forum section for ???) Then you're area would be marked as done, so people could know where to look and not to look!

EDIT: Alright, I just read the post, and dang... I am hyped for ???. Though I probably can't do it. My current account is level 40, so I probably cant join. Though TBF hectoring off Gavel into pieces may not work. Think about Gales Tomb.. It was sectored off multiple times, The Hive was thought to have been completely searched (Though tbf Gales tomb was accessible).. Also we don't necessarily know its in Gavel. Many new quests were added to wynn,

Certain places you may want to double the search area. For example, molten heights has two layers

 

This could work, in theory. However, areas would probably need to be scanned again-such as more "complicated" areas such as The Canyon of the Lost and Molten Heights. Also each "sector" would have to be searched over again, with a new team that probably has a different perspective on what they find (or don't find). Later in the hunt there will probably be some areas that some "clues" point to - those should be prioritized. As for the clues we find, people will interpret them differently.
Also more people than 50 will go searching.

You need to take into account that they will be adding new areas, AND that you will need to search for caves, and hidden puzzles

I decided earlier that I would livestream on Wynncraft ASAP after the update, where I would do the new quests, search for ???, and maybe even do a giveaway.

Of course I would search for ??? (along with viewers) for most of the stream.

 

They actually aren't adding any new areas this update.

Theres da quest areas. (Dojos, and Elemental training areas.... ??? puzzle areas...)

 

perosnally some of the areas should have more people such as molten heights, canyon of the lost, and sky islands due to their complex nature.

 

honestly i'd rather just team up with @Triverr and explore the whole 4,800,000 blocks

Didn't someone cover the wynncraft map with mustard and ketchup to show fruma and dern locations? Someone summon them so they can put relish on the map dividing the sections.

 

It would be intresting if a ??? Spot is that unfinished puźzel in molten heights.

 

I just remembered about that spot! There's an idea!... Idk why but I have a feeling this quest might be themed around potatoes from all the potato staches in Wynn... just an idea, a wacky one at that. They're just such a recurring theme in Wynncraft.
