Let's say you're wearing:
Shimmersight: 7% defense, all
Golden Embrace: 7% defense, all
Gemini: 52% defense, all
Boots of Blue Stone: 8% defense, all

2x Prism: 13% defense, all
Cosmium/Planet Healer: 7% defense, all
Prowess for skill points

And for weapons...
Tower (Warrior): 20% defense, all
Alazarin (Assassin): 13% defense, all
Ignis (Archer): 13% all, 26% fire
fist (Dank Wizard): 0% all

Skill points:
Agi: 66
Dex: 66
Def: 26
Str: 21
Int: 21

(Prowess will make everything work)

Armor and accessories alone add up to 107%. Your weapon could add some wiggle room.

Neutral damage is gonna become a lot less effective when powders come out, it will be minimal damage

...it's the only way you can take damage, though.

I suppose it's not entirely invincible, but it's extremely close to that.

 

100% or more percentile elemental defense boost is just a percentile increase to raw elemental defense, not a percentile decrease of elemental damage taken. In other words, if you had, say, 50 elemental defense but a 100% boost, it'd basically just double it up to 100, which means a reduction of 100 damage from every elemental attack you take.

 

Doesn't this become obsolete when people are doing +10k elemental damage at once?

 

I mean, not really. I'm no expert on endgame stats but I think it's possible to at least get like 1-2 thousand elemental defense.

 

I always assumed that it was like a weird equation with the elemental defense you had to what damage you took cause one time I used only water elemental boosts and I ended up being immune to water elemental atks and I had like 500 water defense

 

It's a raw reduction to elemental defense. So having a water defense of 500 against an attack that does 750 would mean you'd only take 250 water damage. So weak attacks will be less effective.

 

Hmm... That's odd... My friend usually does like 5k water damage to me with just normal armor on

 

@Tantibus are you sure? Because I remember someone (I think it was a gm but I don't remember the the name) saying that bob has 150 defense against every element, yet bob is practically immune to elements.

 

He had 300 back before February, where it got nerfed to 200 but I don't know if this change got pushed. That said, there might be some sort of modifier for elemental defense against spells that I don't know about, but I do know that elemental defense is primarily a raw reduction.

 

Hmm... once powders come out I'll grab a friend and test this further...

 

From what I've seen it seems that elemental defense is applied prior to any multipliers, I have higher thunder damage on Spin Attack with Rewind, but it does none against Bob, whereas my Alazarin does about 20 thunder damage per spin against him

 

Anyone else noticed that he put "Dank" Wizard xD
