Build Custom Island

This island is WIP please give feed back and advice I know it isn't very good.

 

Maybe try adding some block variety to the houses in areas like the roofs

 

A bit too flat, and the mountains are teeny. It's great otherwise!

 

Taking into consideration the feed back I got a did some edits! I also built stuff I had already planned but didn't make yet.

 

I think this build is better then: "It's OK" but not enough for: "Apply for builder"...

 

Add moar roooockkkksss.
Also add groups of flowers and bushes.
Also Also if you haven't already make the roofs a bit better.

 

I can give a few things you can improve :

---- First Image ----​

❈ - The terrain is very flat looking, most islands have a bit of variety to it, even minecraft vanilla ones. You should add some different styles of biomes that work together (for example, a mesa biome, a tiny desert / savanna patch), but right now, your landmass is very plain looking :P.
I know you tried adding a bit of terrain with Voxel Sniper, but 90% of the terrain only varies by 1-3 blocks of height.​

❅ - Not really a flaw per say, but I see you used World Painter trees to throw in a forest. In my opinion, it's fine to use them if you so desire, but I feel like it takes the charm and personnality away from the build you made. Since, you know, you didn't make them yourself :P​

❈ - Why is there a snow "peak" (which looks pretty tiny for a mountain, more like a hill) next to a tropical looking forest and a beach ?​

---- Second Image ----​

❈ - I think this one is alright for a Lumberjack Village, my main issue with it is that it seems a little bit cramped. :P​

---- Third Image ----​

❈ - This is what I mean by cramped, your tent takes up maybe 80% of the space inside this barricade.
❈ - By the way, this small seems a little too thick for it. If its purpose is to defend (or simulated defences), you might want to make sure people can't easily walk on top of it xD
❈ - This flag is really flat and could need a little bit of work.
❈ - The biome transition could also use a better gradient, it looks really weird when it suddenly ends like this.
❈ - Oh and is this a barricade for only one tent ? :P​

In my opinion, you shouldn't be afraid to go big and try and experiment. The stuff you built is very basic and is cramped. I used to be like that when I was scared to make big structures. Then I started thinking about the shape overall, making drafts on paper, and organizing bigger ideas in my head. Maybe you should try and make a bigger camp with multiple tents, or even custom made trees with other stuff than templates from the internet ? c:​

 

Here's the build after I edited it. And btw no world edit or voxel sniper was used this was made in world painter then by hand. The right beach of the river will be completed, I will terrain better, add ruins in the jungle and expand the camps the next time I have5 hours.

 

its very flat and the mountains are smaller than the trees. By that logic, the trees would have snow on them.

 

I make hills and everyone goes bad mountains...

 

They have snow on them, so they look like mountains.

To many trees not enough buildings or anything that just makes it pop.

 

Use another recource pack, it looks a bit bland. But appart from that GG it's awesome!

 

To add on to what I said before in my opinion the build just does not flow together it just looks like you pit alto of trees and just added a few houses maybe fill the land it a bit more and take away some of the trees.
