Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"I s-saw you l-leaving... I th-hought we were all going..."

 

"We were just gonna talk about some private matters." I say.

Artemis hugs Ihra.

 

"O-oh... Sorry. I... uh..."
She hugs Artemis back.
"Are you thinking about leaving?"

 

"We can't exactly stay here forever." Artemis says.

 

"I... I get it. I'm sorry for keeping you away from all your homes."
Ihra hugs Artemis tighter.

 

"No, it wasn't that! It was that we couldn't stay in this forest forever!" Artemis says, trying to calm Ihra down.

 

"H-huh? Oh, right. Yeah... Rineth's probably getting bored anyways."
She's still trying to collect herself after almost being fireballed.

 

Artemis wraps Ihra in vines, healing her and calming her, before retracting them.

 

She wasn't wounded, but the scare seems to have drained her; she just flops over onto Artemis, asleep.

 

Artemis glares at Abigail, and she just shrugs again; uncaring.

 

I follow the path, flame still lit.

"Interesting. Why would a cult want to summon The Misstress?" Helianthus asks.

 

"They worship her. They were hoping to have her blessings for their new leader."

 

"Ah, I see." Helianthus says, "Well, thank you for the information."

He then proceeds to walk around the palace aimlessly, hoping to find a place of interest.

 

The guard nods.


After quite a bit of wandering, you find the main entryway. From here, you can see the ludicrous size of the palace.

 

"We should try to find whatever it is. Then we will know what they are up against."

The Wind Dragon hums calmly, but weakly. It lets Keila scratch it.
The other Wind Dragon limps over and also hums.

A while later, you reach a part of the island where the fog isn't as thick, though there is still some fog.
You notice some ruins nearby. It looks like it could be part of a wall.

 

"I'm going to evacuate these two Wind Dragons, then I'll help look."

The winds around Keila carry the Wind Dragons with her as she flies back towards the Lost Kingdom
"You'll be okay. I won't hurt you." She whispers to them, making sure the winds don't agitate their wounds.

 

"Okay. I'll look around and try to find it."
I then fly out of sight.

They both give a hum of appreciation.

 

"Worst case scenario, I can see if we can use Aura and Idala as a translator. These two probably know the problem firsthand." She reaches out telepathically.

"Did something hunt you two, or did something hunt what you eat?"

 

"Quite the massive palace." Helianthus comments, looking around for a guard.

I walk over to the ruins, curious.

"Or we can use Hryth's Speech Flowers. Hryth is the Cloud Dragon."

The first Wind Dragon looks puzzled. In an attempt to communicate, it makes a squeaky metallic sound which seems to irritate the other Wind Dragon.

The path ends at a large gap in what once would have been a mighty wall. It seems to be where the gate was. It looks like the wall had been blasted with some powerful magic... maybe it would be a good idea to make sure there aren't any leaks of magic in this place...
You can see some piles of rubble near to the gap in the wall, but beyond them are a few houses which are mainly intact. While the glowing path is no longer there, you can see a worn stone path leading uphill and further into the remains of the city.
