Weapon Skill Points Don't Work??

Some weapons give skill points, but for example when you hold a bow that gives you +5 int and try to put on a helmet that requires +5 int and it doesn't let you equip it leading me to believe skill points given by weapons do not apply to your stats. Is this something known? Never seen it on the forums

 

Pretty sure the weapon needs to be in your first hotbar slot in order for the statistics to take effect. If that's the problem, then this is the solution.
Otherwise– your statistics from other weapons won't be added to your character statistics, even if you are "holding" the item. Again, should be in slot 1 (I've tried it before the Gavel Update, and I can confirm that the weapon does need to be in slot 1).

And this isn't on the forums probably because no one probably notices enough to care.

Weapon skill points don't apply. For instance, if I have 5 intel (and I use jester bracelet, which requires 5) and then decide to hold Apocalypse (-14 int)
I would supposedly end up with 0, or -9 to be exact. However, you will still be able to use the jester bracelet with the apocalypse in your hand, even though you actually have -9 intel (0).

 

It probably does work, but for any weapon stats to apply, you need to be holding it.
