assassin lacks in good weapons(compared to other classes) , even mythics it has less than every other class it doesnt get enough love (talking end game ofcourse)
for example there is not a single good end game thunder weapon for assassin (dont tell me that black is good because its also a fire weapon i am talking about pure thunder) and thunder is assassins "main" skill point which was even said by salted
oh and btw since assassin is a melee class it will be buffed with the powder update

To be fair, past Lv 51 you essentially have to go multi-element due to the fact that skill points are elementally-affiliated and even if you did nothing but max out your dexterity, you'd have to start putting skill points into another attribute. So, not having -pure- thunder weapons isn't the biggest deal. Even if you did want just thunder, the Copper Knife certainly works just fine, but mixing your elements is more effective than going mono, again due to the skill boosts.Plus, now you can just add Thunder powders to stuff like Pencuri if you're really so desperate for a pure Thunder weapon.

I personally would suggest that if you want to go Thunder, you use Liquefied Sun, Blur, or Waterspout, rather than Copper Knife, since having the extra skill points and abilities of the other elements available to you is less limiting. That's one of the reasons that the Warrior got all mono-element spears. Since the Warrior is less good with elements already(and really doesn't need to be), the weapons reinforce that.

I think Assassin is a perfectly balanced class, and takes quite a bit of skill to use; making it fun. Sure, it takes a bit of practise to get used to, but as an experienced Assassin, I found practically no change in playstyle or difficulty whilst playing Assassin after the Gavel update; in fact, I think it was even easier to play with the new elements system and subclasses.

The people who "Demand"* Assassin to be buffed, or say it's nigh on impossible to play just need to get better practise with it. I'll say this: Assassin is not meant for new players. It requires knowledge of the game and its enemies to use properly and effectively; and if used correctly, can be one of the most deadly classes out there. Players who don't know how to use the class will obviously fail at it, and, when they find they're either being killed too quickly or not dealing enough damage (by not using assassin to output damage correctly), they will think the class is flawed; instead of they themselves being flawed.

*Yes, people have actually demanded Assassin be buffed.

As long as you can conserve your mana and get a good dagger, it's all good.

With my assassin I took out various bosses including CoW myself. The important thing to do is get to high ground and find a spot where they can't hit you that much. Also, Git Gud.

Pretty sure that was the initial reasoning for the 60 level minimum before Gavel(even though we all know that back then, Assassin was point-&-click). I honestly don't know why that was removed.

I think if they'd kept it, we'd have seen a whole lot less of the 'Buff Assassin!' threads.
They should probably add that back in...

all of those weapons are nice
but they do not even get close in damage to the high lvl mythics or legendaries which are better because they also provide more defense
liquified sun is a worse inferno/black
    blur is a worse weathered
and waterspout is just pretty weak
you see alltho the "strong" daggers do have some element of thunder they dont focus on it , its a side element to them
copper knife is a poor end game choice as it is very very weak
and yes yes you can use powders but powders can only get you that far when the weapon is not focused on thunder and has ids that help it
and no one only uses one element thats clear but is it really that hard to make 1 good high lvl thunder dagger (legendary or mythic) so people can choose the other element and not be forced to put one that they dont want

Like I've said previously, assassin is kinda in a weird spot, i dont think assassin is the absolute best due to assassin's lack of mobility. But not the worst due to the high potential and learning curve of the class. I honestly dont know.

I feel each class has their own Niche. Some classes are great for their utilities. While other classes offer high damage. Overall, it just depends on playstyle. I don't enjoy much more than archer, but I also haven't invested much time into other classes either.

    ok. 10/10 reasoning
I'm pretty sure that there has to be reasons for so many buff threads, good or bad, and at this time, saying 'assassin is fine the way it is' is a lot more 'popular' than saying it should be changed/buffed/whatever.

@Kraby makes a really good point about endgame weapons, there isn't much choice and apart from mythics, the others are terribly weak in comparison. Powders will certainly help solve many damage issues though, however being that there is no endgame thunder or water dagger, the assassin endgame choices are a lot more limited than the other classes. Adding a couple more assassin mythics for other builds will help diversify the playstyles and builds for the class, for example adding a good water dagger mythic to go with the @Terunalix 'weathered build' which uses all water based pieces of armor (Third eye/soul sig/crystal/memento) instead of using an air dagger to go with a water build.

Honestly now, assassin isn't that bad and could do with a couple changes, (buff multihit) but it definitely requires more skill and practice to make good use of the class. Just needs more weapons and maybe a couple small changes.

Yea, eventhough I am saying Assassin is a very balanced class with high learning curve, he again (like I said) still has some flaws specifically with multi hit, mobility, and potentially damage output. Though I have been one shotted by many assassins (specifically Rain's), so there could be ways around it. Which is why I can kinda understand OhHerro's points.
