Sonic 25th Anniversary Games Announced!

Yes, the meme legend has returned once again. This time he'll be celebrating his 25th anniversary a year late, with two new games coming in 2017. The Sonic Team is clearly putting a heavy emphasis on Classic Sonic this time around so hopefully this will put an end to the bad streak that's been going on since Lost World.

First up, we have Sonic Mania, a game that I think will please just about everyone:



This will be releasing on PS4, Xbox, and PC. No word on any Nintendo releases. I'd say they'd be hiding an NX release if it weren't for this next game:

Next we have a game with no title yet, although it feels a bit familiar for those who have played a Sonic game that literally everyone knows about:



This will be releasing on PS4, Xbox, PC, and NX, whatever that is.

All in all, it looks like Sonic's future is actually exciting for once. Get hyped!

 

Wait...who came up with sonic, and were they on something? I mean, its a blue hedgehog, than runs at the speed of sound, what makes someone come up with that?

Well, duh, why else do you think Mario eats so many shrooms? Cause I'll tell you, it isn't because he's from the mushroom kingdom

 

Also, why on earth does he grow bigger when he eats shrooms? These games make 0 sense.

I don't know how to feel about these upcoming games; its hard to feel hyped after a game franchise with so many letdowns

Sonic and the Black Knight was amazing. Great soundtrack, outstanding visuals, and some pretty intuitive gameplay. Sure, controls were unresponsive at times, but should wielding a sword be that easy in real life? I don't think so.
And yes, it's not a main series game, and wasn't intended to be. But for what it's worth, if not great as a "Sonic game", it was still enjoyable as its own game.

Sonic 06 is obviously an unfinished game, with enough glitches and holes in the storyline to feed the entire universe. But maybe if they had more time to consider their design choices and how the players would think about it, maybe it wouldn't have been so god awful.

Sonic Lost World... well, it's a cool game, but there's too little content to compensate for the time it took to make it. That and it basically screams Super Mario Galaxy.

 

To be fair, those all failed because they were trying to do something new with Sonic when they already had a winning formula. Seems they're finally stopping that.

 

I don't like the way he says 'Black Knight'

It's pretty terrible from what I've seen.
