It's 1 in the morning and I'm high, time to write shit!

I'm sure anyone who hasn't been living under a rock had heard about this. Basically, this started with a video by the youtuber h3h3 productions, a video called "deception, lies and csgo" revealing that 2 youtubers named tmartn and prosyndicyte in fact owned a csgo gambling website named csgo lotto, without disclosing they owned it, all the while praising it. For anyone who doesn't know, that's illegal. Like, that can land you in jail. Now the tmartn thing reached its peak when footage was released of tmartn signed into csgo lotto as a bot, meaning he can reap the rewards, no matter what, as the bots are considered the "middle man", and handle the cash.

After a month or so, everything died down. But shit hit the fan.. Again.. When several skype conversations were leaked, pointing to twitch streamer and youtuber phantom lord as the owner of a csgo gambling site named csgo... I dunno. Anyway, this time it was shown that phantomlord almost certainly changed the odds of the betting to make him win. Then his 4.something million followers twitch channel was banned.





Yes I know, there are many other things to add and many pints I didn't cover and probably some slightly inaccurate information. But it's fucking one in the morning and I'm high on seaweed. I'll add more shit later.

It's great that this happened. Tmartn, syndicate and phantomlord made millions off of their websites. Thanks to honorthecall and Ethan from h3h3, csgo gambling is now dead, and people can actually start focusing on the actual game.

Either that or people will start quitting the game since people can no longer get easy profit lol.

It wouldn't be surprising if people quit anyways; some people only have csgo just to trade or in this case, gambling skins. It's like a business to them; just not as good :/.

 

This business might go underground to a place like the deep web?

 

I don't think they should do that, it helps csgo stay popular.. :/ .. it probably still will be just as popular

Well it may make the game popular and all, but I don't think it's really the right direction for keeping it that way.

Tbh I find the fact that these websites are trying to use skins to bypass gambling laws to be really shady and disgusting overall. The pro match betting is where it should have stopped before it got to this.

Apparently me, and anyone else who doesn't pay attention to CSGO lives under a rock. That's actually an illegal living space because it doesn't fit safety regulations. Being a former president, you should know this.

 

Valve sent a cease and desist so there is no more of these websites and I honestly thought the websites were fine as long as you understood that the odds are not in your favor (it is scumbagish)

 

It was a trap! Your under arrest!

 

Phantoml0rd, syndicate, Tmartn and the FaZe guys all deserve jail time.

 

I really don't think all these guys deserve jail time, but I do agree that they should be charged. Overall, I think it is peoples faults for betting, you know what they say, The house always wins.

 

And yet people who are so naive still take the risk of losing hundreds despite the odds :(

 

Tmartn scammed a ton of 10 year olds who got a hold of their moms credit cards, basically same story with Syndicate. Now all the gambling sites have to be shut down. Waste of time tbh
