Prison Story - Why Was He Arrested?

Another Potential thing could just be him being framed for something he didn't do. Normally someone who spends their entire life in prison gets attached, He could have very well just lost everything he had before he was in prison I.E his family, and his tangible items. Thus resulting in him being better off being supported by the system. Because of the fact that he is very kind throughout his time talking to you, along with him giving you a reward.


My Theory

• Waront: Wo! You're not with the guards, are you?
• Waront: Thank god! Yes, I do have the key, here it is.
• Waront: Hopefully we can free the prisoner...

Looking here, his friend is surprised by someone being in the sewers, but it's also not something that it seems a friend would say "Free the Prisoner"
A friend would more likely use his name, but this is a minor detail, I think the real thought that should be acknowledged is Ooni's reaction when you finally return the key to him.

• Ooni: Wonderful! You got the key!
• Ooni: Although, I got kind of used to this cell, I think I'll stay for a bit.
• Ooni: However, I am not greedy! Here's something to thank you

Although I'm no avid drug dealer, it doesn't seem like a drug dealer to be generous, it also doesn't make much sense for them to want to stay. They have spent a majority of their time in the cell.

Overall, due to the lack of the ability to use our modern day forensics he could have been framed, he doesn't seem like he is a negative person, most people become worse in prison, not better.
But that's just a thought I had XD

TLDR; He was framed for the crimes that he's in prison for.

 

What if he lost everything due to the drugs and now stays in prison bcz he neither got a home nor food
