Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

He draws his sword and nocks an arrow, but then holsters his bow.
"And that is?"

"No, I'll be fine. I tend to make myself a bed of ice. I can cover you during the day as well, if you'd like, using the ice like a reverse lens to disperse the heat of the sun."

 

Stephanie tries opening the door.

 

"There won't be any ice where we are yet. It's still a normal climate. If you enjoy the cold, then I suppose you could just make a bed of snow. I still have a bit of coin left I can buy a few sleeping bags with. If you change your mind, of course."

 

"Do gods bleed?" I ask, starting to run around him, but not firing.

 

There's no resistance from the door, and it opens with ease.
On the other side of the door is a tunnel, which clearly wasn't there before she opened the door.
"Anything?"

 

"There's a tunnel." Stephanie says.

 

"If you don't see anything too personal, then go in. I'm fine with it."

 

"Uh, ok." Stephanie says, nervously entering the tunnel.

 

It's quite a large tunnel, not cramping Stephanie at all, and the walls of the tunnel seems to show different pictures.
Even though Stephanie just entered, the door seems to be getting farther away slowly, revealing more of the tunnel as she goes.
Stephanie can notice that a lot of the pictures seems familiar.
The one on the wall right next to her, being Stephanie herself, with the helmet on.
"...Well? How is it?"

 

"I think these are your memories..." Stephanie says.

 

Crystal seems hesitant.
"...Well, if you're going to find anything, it's here. Can you see how far you can go?"
The picture of Stephanie created on the wall doesn't move, and it doesn't seem that there are any more in sight, yet.

 

Stephanie starts running down the tunnel.

 

The pictures change at a pace that's not too fast, but not too slow.
It's like someone hit a rewind button, pointed at the walls.
It shows Stephanie with the helmet off.
Then back to Artemis and AJ.
Then to Katie sleeping in the water.
Back to Artemis in the water...

Stephanie getting thrown in the water...

 

Stephanie throws a crystal as hard as she can, a blast of air behind it. It flies down the tunnel, and bounces along the ground. Once the crystal finally stops, Stephanie teleports far down the tunnel to it.

 

The picture on the wall now is a view of an ocean, a view that's about 5 feet off the ground.

 

Stephanie walks along the tunnel, watching the picture change.

 

The view gets farther and farther away from the ocean, like Crystal was backing up from it.
Or, because the pictures are in reverse, going towards it.

 

Stephanie keeps walking, seeing how far the memories go.

 

It's a lot of backing up, with occasionally talking to someone that gives Crystal a strange look.
In reverse, the start of each of the conversations seem to be the person pointing, in the direction that Crystal just came from.
At the end of each conversation, Crystal changes the direction that he is walking in.

 

Stephanie keeps walking, hoping to reach the end.
