"It might make for some pretty fun things, too. The person you use it on will be pissed, though."

 

"I can always just have them forget they were under mind control; it'd be like it never happened to them." Artemis says.

 

I decide to continue floating on top of the water instead of sinking in. I float over to the middle of the lake.

"Very much so. I have just one question for you." I draw my sword and prepare my crossbow.

 

"That's always useful, but I don't think the people around them will forget. Eh. Always depends on the situation, doesn't it?"

 

"Yeah, and sometimes the people I mind control don't even know they're being mind controlled. For example, I could be mind controlling you know, and you'd think we're just talking while I'm making you spill your darkest secrets. The mind is quite easy to abuse and trick once you get used to it." Artemis says.

"What is even real anymore..." I say, trailing off.

Artemis laughs.

 

Crystal smiles and chuckles happily.
"What would it even be like, to mind control a rock?"

 

"Well, I don't think I can really mind control you. Stephanie might, however, as you're 'powered' by magic instead of life." Artemis says.

 

"Huh."
Crystal looks at Aj, then back to Artemis.
"Interesting. I might ask her to try it out sometime. Unless that's weird for someone to ask her to mind control them."

 

"I'm sure she'd just take it as practise." Artemis says happily.

 

"Cool! Then I'll definitely ask her sometime."

 

"You should!" Artemis says happily.

 

"I just hope I don't scar her on anything, from going throughout my head."

 

"What, have you been in a war or something?" I ask jokingly.

 

"No. I'm a rock made by I-don't-know-what. There might be something in there that hurts."

 

"Maybe Stephanie could access the memories, or at least identity, of what made you?" I ask.

 

"That'd be nice. I'm just hoping that my mind doesn't end up hurting her in any way."

 

"That's the dangers of mind control, as well as psychic powers themselves. If your mind isn't prepared, you could suffer the consequences." Artemis warns.

 

"Oh, alright. So she should be prepared."

 

"Yeah, she should be." Artemis says.

 

OOC: Not sure if you missed my reply, so I'll post again:

I look at the sun to see if it's starting to get dark. If it's dark, I say, "We should get some rest now. I'm sure we'll find a town tomorrow." If it's still light, I say, "When we get to a town, want me to buy anything? I figured we wouldn't need camping supplies yet, seeing as it's just grassy plains for now."
