Art Animation Project Sprites

So I have been interested in doing animation for a long time, but as soon as I figured out how most of the best looking animation was made(drawn frame by frame) I realized I was too lazy to do that.

So instead, I looked to a different style, and I am currently working on an animation project with my friend.
Its almost complete and I thought I would ask you guys to judge my artwork for this project.




Fun fact- I drew this like last year before I got Sai paint tool- I used paint.net to do this.

Oh, no... forget it.

 

RPG Maker and Game Maker are two tools used to create games. A few examples of RPG Maker games are Ib, Shattered Dream and Mad Father.

In "200 xp" the inside of the letters is white, not transparent

I don't see it.

 

Most animations are not done stopmotion (term for frame by frame animation) actually.
Check out Maya and literally everything Pixar, etc.

 

I like the concept and the character, I'd just try to keep the sprites more consistent. Keep the arms and legs the same size throughout everything, for example. For example, I noticed the legs can be thicker depending on the sprite, and when you animate it it would look a bit strange. For example, compare these. Another thing with the joints and the length of the limbs; some of the joints aren't really realistic. For example, the leg on this one. A good example of what I mean by the length of things would be this, the right arm that is bent is just as long as the left arm, which is straight. Also, keep in mind the joints are halfway down the arm, so I'd fix that.
I really like the design and I'd like to see more, I'm just trying to help out by giving constructive criticism.

I was looking at each sprite and noticed that the text looked a bit weird so I zoomed in by like 500% and saw those 5 white pixels.

 

Correct. Even the legendary Alan Becker uses tweening (basically doing a movement while going to the next frame)
