Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Probably when this adventure is over; which is who knows when," Artemis says, "Still, I never feel too far from home."

Artemis looks around the forest, smiling.

 

"Well that's nice. it's good to know that you can always feel at home, where ever the place really is."

 

"No need to cast the spell on an elf though. Almost all elf races speak the same language as humans, as do most races. There is one elf race that doesn't speak the same language but they're...different. The dragons of this land spoke telepathically, but we won't encounter them. If you've already learned this language, no need to learn it again."

 

"Oh, that's convenient. Thanks for that information."

 

"Yeah, haha. Where do you come from?" Artemis asks.

 

"One of the Outcast Isles, I believe. Pretty sure I saw it on a map once."

 

"Well, I can say you won't be an outcast from our group!" Artemis says happily, "If you're already friends with Katie and the others, I'm sure we'll be friends too."

 

I look at the sun to see if it's starting to get dark. If it's dark, I say, "We should get some rest now. I'm sure we'll find a town tomorrow." If it's still light, I say, "When we get to a town, want me to buy anything? I figured we wouldn't need camping supplies yet, seeing as it's just grassy plains for now."

 

"Awww, thanks! Is there anything I should be aware about?"

 

"I don't think so; other than just don't get on Abigail's bad side." Artemis says, smiling.

 

"A hothead, you could say?"
Crystal smiles.

 

HH nods, and then gets into position, preparing his sword and crossbow.

I check to see how deep the lake is.

 

Artemis laughs, "I often get in a heated argument with her!" She says.

"I can hear you guys, you know!" Abigail shouts.

 

"Come on, jokes are fun, aren't they?"
Crystal shouts back.

 

"Not when they're offensive, rockbrain!" Abigail shouts back.

"I think she likes jokes, even if she doesn't show it." Artemis says, smiling.

 

"Rockbrain."
Crystal mumbles to himself.
"Huh. Good one."
Crystal turns to Artemis.
"Well, often jokes don't hurt people too bad. Maybe their pride a little, but do you really need that much pride in a group of friends?"

 

"Not really," Artemis says, smiling, "Abigail can be a little...prickly, at first, but once you get to know her, you'll find she has a warm heart!"

 

Crystal dips underwater this time, and laughs a muffled laugh before coming back up and smiling.

 

Artemis smiles back, before looking around.

 

Crystal though that it'd be a good idea to have human-sized gills, so now he has human-sized gills where his cheeks would be.
"Whatcha' looking out for?"
Crystal asks Artemis.
