    TOWER OF ASCENSION

    Some Info about Tower of Ascension for those who don't know
    Tower of Ascension is a quest you get at level 40. In this quest, you go up 7 floors (which consist of 10 rooms) that are full of mobs ranging from 40 to 110. These mobs get higher and higher leveled as you move up. Your job is to get 10 shards from each room which are drops from the mobs in that particular room. On the 10th room, you need to defeat a boss to then move on to the next floor. This makes up for a total of 637 mobs required to defeat this quest (630 regular mobs and 7 bosses).

    At the time of me writing this, I am level 79. I am leaving the point where the Temple of Legends would still be useful. Now I am aware that there are so many places with high spawn rates of mobs. But the problem I encountered that they were so spread apart. I wanted to grind in a spot where the spawn rate was high in a small but dense area (like Temple of Legends).

    So what I did was continue my Tower of Ascension Quest (as that was not yet done and I felt too lazy to grind). I was at Floor 5, Room 1 when I realized that the Tower of Ascension might not be a bad place to grind... Or is it?

    Just a disclaimer, this guide is mainly for levels 40 - 80 since Qira's Hive is generally a good place to grind.

    PROS

    * High Exp Yield
    The mobs there have a good exp yield. I was grinding at the Canyon of the Lost and all the mobs gave me anything ranging from 250 - 370 exp per kill (They were ranging from levels 82 - 84). However the mobs at Floor 5, Room 1 were able to give me around 440 exp per kill. Keep in mind that this was with 57% exp with an additional 10% on my weapon with 10% going to the guild. The trainers at ToL only gave me around 330 exp per kill.

    * High Spawn Rate
    There is a very high spawn rate for the mobs at ToA. Once you kill all the mobs in the room, a few more spawn at the back of the room. This ensures that you will never stop grinding at any point and your climb to the top is smooth. I personally love getting swarmed by millions of melee attackers on Floor 5, Room 2.

    * There is always something for everybody. Any mob type, Any level (Well, at least for 40+).
    The Tower of Ascension has floors for every level from 40 to 110. This is around the time you reach Gavel and level 40 - 59 is also the time where quests sometimes might not be able to fill the whole requirement to the next level (Rare, but will probably happen at some point). There are also ranged mob rooms as well as melee mob rooms. While I am guessing that the majority would rather grind in a room full of swarming melee attackers, for those who are very frail and fast, maybe those ranged rooms would be better (I really can't say though because I main in Warrior).

    * Very little people grinding there
    There are very little people grinding here. This means that there will nobody that steals your kills. You will encounter the occasional group of people that are completing ToA together or something, but other than that, you will be the only one there. But why are there so few people grinding here? Well it will be something I will go over in the cons.

    CONS

    * Very low Loot yield
    This is the main reason that people generally avoid ToA. All you get are dumb shards. You do get weapons, but most of the time it's just a common or a very crappy Unique. In the time it got for me to get from 30% to 40% (193000 exp), I got 2 Uniques in a sea of commons. I only had 15% loot bonus and 10% from Bob's, though. But even with low loot bonus, I am still able to get legendaries and rares in other places. Do note that you can get Mythics and Legendaries, just not as much as others places. I have gotten 1 Legendary from my time of grinding there.

    * Hard for lower levels to get in, hard for everybody to get out.
    It can be really hard for level 40s to 50s to get in ToA in the first place. But my advice to you, is that if you are a level 40 to 50 having trouble getting into Tower of Ascension due to the mobs surrounding, I suggest you just grind with the mobs around Tower of Ascension instead. There are a lot of them, and will give you better loot than those at ToA. Now when I mean hard for everybody to get out, I mean it can be tedious. You want to get out without doing /kill? Go through whatever rooms you have left to go through. Although it is a simple 1 soulpoint you are doing by killing yourself, you can't just keep killing yourself if you want to constantly get in or out. You will easily loose soulpoints. So my suggestion is that if you want to train at ToA, I suggest you are ready for a long session of grinding.

    * Very little hiding spots and only 1 advantage point
    The room you are grinding in is flat with no advantage points, so it will be likely that you will be running around with a swarm of mobs following you. However, there is 1 hiding spot. It requires that all the mobs are very far away from where you are hiding though, or else they will see you. You can also use your spells to get up on the fence post holding the up the sign in each floor, however only if the mobs aren't ranged or can'
    t reach you. For Mages and Archers, you can access a secret advantage point, click here for more information.

    CONCLUSION

    Good exp yield, low loot yield. I suggest that if you are looking to fill up the remaining 10% to the next level, grind here.

    I think actually looting chances of mobs don't change to other mobs.
    But yea, some floors of ToA is really good for grind.

    I grind purely on the motivation that maybe I'll get fancy crap items to sell so I'm inable to grind at ToA, unless I do a camp on top of the fence.

    I got 2 Mythics here. I must be really lucky. Apocalypse and Weathered.
    Well, there is that pole with the sign that you can stand on if the mobs don't know any spells. There's also that spot above the entrance of the levels that @motoki1 showed off in his Grinding Thread (Link).

    In ToA... I grinded a bit... And then I got... over 9000 normal, 82367 crappy and useless uniques and 1 rare.
    That rare was a 1/4 mana regen Seagazer.
    Then I found the freezing heights.
    Mantis is happy now :)

    Good job on this, nice little guide, except.. Well..

    Personally, I find it much more fun to shove the floor master in laps across the room with arrows.

    Maybe it's just me..

    What in the world are you doing snooping around a 2-month old thread?

    I must inform you, necroposting is against the rules.
