Boats Glitching Since Forever

Okay, so I've noticed this for a while now. It even happened back in the old build, before the new province was added. When you place a boat, it moves just fine, but you can't be near dock or else you lose the boat. And when you get out of the boat, you are sent back far away from it, and the boat disappears. I don't mind losing the boat, but I'd like to not have to swim 20 something odd blocks to shore. Anyone know what cause's this?

 

Lag, most likely. Although, this doesn't happen to me and I'm not sure why. Also, the boat despawning when you get off is intended.

 

I think this is because the server thinks the player is somewhere, even though on your screen you appear somewhere else. I'm not exactly an expert, but I'm pretty sure this is how it works since when this happens, if you have VIP and have player effects enabled, the player effects swirl round in a different location. When you get out the block, you'll get teleported to where the player effects are. Same thing happens with horses on 1.10.

 

This is a minecraft thing called lag, the only fixes are for Wynncraft to get a better server, or you to get better internet I'm afraid. :(

 

Fix #1: run your boat for a count of 7 seconds, then let go of the forward key, count to 3 seconds to let the packets catch up with the server and the game. Repeat.

Usually, with boats, your game is generating new chunks very quickly, so is the server. The two need time to reconcile, aka, catch up and fix any lag.

 

Which Minecraft version do you use? If its anywhere above 1.8.9, you should try an older version.

 

Unless you want to revert to pre-1.7.2, you won't avoid the travel glitch. Until MC figures out how to fix the disparity between local and server information on boats.

This can be seen nicely, if you turn your particles on. The game makes your position somewhere, but the server can not keep up, so while you are somewhere, tor invisible true self is a few blocks infront of you.
