Build Icy Corruption

Hello, I'm back.
I decided to post one of my most recent builds here.
This build was against my friend, and the theme was Icy.
So, I did this.

Way to small to judge in my opinion

 

This is pretty neat. are you planning on make more of it or have it lead into like a lake or a city?

 

Well, it DID only take 1hr 40mins.

I'm planning to make it slowly transition to fire and lava :P
But yeah I could make a lake or a city or something like that
The city would be in ruins tho so thats fun

 

1 hour and 40 minutes for this! That's a lot for this small build!

 

This was my first build that took over 30 Minutes XD
So yeah does that explain a lot? :P

The palette is soooo weird.

 

the nether brick, the bits of nether portal and the coal blocks look out of place and weird, but other than that, i think its good,

 

I started the fire/lava part :P

 

The netherrack and coal in the ice section looks a bit too out of place for comfort. Try a smoother palette for that area, so it's not so stark against the other materials.

 

Looks cool, but it's not really realistic... I'm pretty sure that snow and ice would melt instantly sitting next to the fire stuff

 

When was Minecraft realistic?
Also snow and ice DOES melt instantly next to the lava, but compressed ice does not.

 

I don't know about that palette either...Mixing the netherrack with the ice looks off.

My suggestion would be to have the ice with a smoother palette like the one you originally have posted (probably a bit smoother than that) and slowly transition into a grassy plains as a source of medium between the two...then go into the lava volcano terrain. Hell; you can even go further and terraform to make the lava at a lower elevation -> grassy plains -> icy mountains with icicles on top of a landbridge danging down with a lava pit far far below it

 

Sadly I am at y=4 here :(
I'm thinking about having an old town/lakeside town coming off of this bridge...
