Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"There's always the possibility that it just can't. But I think that's unlikely."

 

Katie seems worried, "Maybe I am crazy..." She says nervously.

 

The moment you put the mushroom down, it somehow plants itself into the ground again.
The red eyes disappear and the light of the forest returns to normal, as if nothing had happened.

 

"That's... Confusing."

"Ah... Actually, that does sound a fair bit impressive. I take it you're the only surviving kingdom there, then?"

 

"Hearing voices from going crazy doesn't just happen. Crazy people either know they're crazy, or are clearly crazy. Unless you know you're crazy, you're not, from what I can tell."

 

"Haha, yeah," Katie says happily, "I'm not crazy. I guess the birthlake just doesn't want to speak to you. Maybe it doesn't know you're in it, because you're a golem?"

 

"Well, the things in the forest didn't seem to notice me, and they're created by the Birthlake, right? So I guess that'd make sense..."
Crystal starts thinking.

 

"Maybe it's because you have magic instead of life? The forest probably detects life, so when it detects no sign of life, it doesn't act." Katie asks.

 

"Maybe. Do you know if any of your group knows anything about that?"
Crystal seems curious.

 

"Artemis might. She's a forest guardian!" Katie says happily.

 

"Oh! Cool! So, where is she?"
Crystal asks, looking at the group on the shore.

 

"Uhh...I don't know. She sort of went off into the forest, and she hasn't come back yet," Katie says, "I'm worried about her."

 

"Oh... Well, she's a forest guardian in a forest. Is there really that much that could go wrong?"

 

"Haha, yeah. I'm sure she's enjoying herself." Katie says happily.

 

"Yeah."
Pause.
"So, out of curiosity, what do you normally do as a water guardian?"

 

"Well, my parents stop people from entering parts of the ocean that we own, but I mainly just try to make the most out of life and have fun! Swimming underwater is fun, since there's so much to see!" Katie says happily.

 

"Yeah! The bottom of the ocean is neat once you get to see it! Walking on the bottom for a few days gives you a really good perspective."

 

"Yeah, it's so interesting to see all the fish, and feel the sand between your toes!" Katie says happily.

 

Crystal suddenly flips over, and its feet are visible.
Crystal doesn't seem to have toes, with his feet shaped like shoes.
It flips over again.
"I've never actually felt that. I might try it sometime."

 

"I guess it's more a human-esce thing, haha." Katie says, laughing.
