Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Brisingr? I heard mention that Abigail wanted to go there. I think we should investigate." Katie says.


Artemis follows the path, curious.

 

Crystal moves and Katie seems to feel its arm.
"I dunno. Maybe. Depends on the specifics of being a golem, but I don't think I was made by a certain someone, I was just made by something."

 

"Can you head to the surface? I'd like to see you a little better." Katie asks.

 

I hold it up, like a torch, and then yell out "I'd like the path to be reopened! I am not yet out of here!"

 

A little motion, and Crystal is no longer visible.
The last Katie saw of motion in front of her, was at the top of her vision, meaning that Crystal most likely went up.

 

Katie swims up to the surface, poking her head out of the water.

 

In front of her she sees only a head poking out of the water. The head is shaped just like a normal human head with no deformities. However, the eyes are more like large spheres that fit into the gaps, and are obviously larger than normal human eyes. One thing, though, is that the head seems to be made out of a light-purple crystal, yet the eyes seem to be made of a crystal that constantly swirls a rainbow array of colors throughout the eyes. Through the clear water Katie can see the rest of Crystal's body, the same light-purple as its head.
"Hi."
Crystal says, opening its mouth.

 

Katie just stares at Crystal's eyes, almost entranced by their colours.

 

They seem to light up very brightly for a second, while Crystal's looking into Katie's eyes.
It's like someone turned a powerful colored flashlight on and off again.

 

"Oh, sorry, I didn't mean to stare," Katie says, realising she's been looking into Crystal's eyes for too long, "You have amazing eyes. What causes them to change between colours like that?"

 

"Thanks. It's just the variety of the crystal I'm made out of, probably mixed with the thing that made me. Not sure what makes it this way, but some parts of the crystal that my body is made out can turn the same color as my eyes. Normally, it's just light-purple. I like my eyes physically, also. Watch."
Crystal puts its hands up to its eyes and pushes down lightly and jerks his hands downwards, making his eyes roll inside their sockets like their just regular spheres.

 

Katie cringes, "Doesn't that hurt?" She asks.

 

"No. My eyes are connected to my head magically, so I can't take them out at will, but I can move them around. It can help when I don't want to look at something, and I can't just turn away, because I'm actually still looking out of the same spot in my eyes."
Crystal state, re-adjusting his eyes.
"Are you able to have legs? I think you are, I just want to make sure."

 

Katie's fish tail becomes encased in a blue aura, making it impossible to see; when the aura clears, Katie's fish tail seems to have been replaced with normal legs. Katie treads water to stay afloat, despite it not being really necessary.

"It'd be pretty horrible to only have a fish tail or legs; both making it harder to walk or swim, haha." Katie says, laughing slightly.

 

"Yeah. Environments can be harsh for beings without shapeshifting properties."
Crystal says, lifting up its right hand, which seems to be webbed. A second later, it's no longer webbed, it's just a regular human hand.

 

"Whoa, cool!" Katie says, facinated.

 

"As cool as it is, I'm still a rock not matter how I shapeshift. So, certain things won't really help much. Such as wings. I mean, sure, wings could look really cool, but it's not like I'll be able to fly with them."
Crystal puts its hand back into the water.

 

"Could you turn into a giant sword or something? I'm sure my friend Aj could hold you." Katie asks.

 

"...Thinking about it, yes, I could. Although, I'm going to need some rocks and a lot of time before I can get bigger than I already am. Thinking about it more, I don't actually know that much about making a sword, so becoming an effective one might be difficult."
Pause.
"Which one of your friends is Aj?"

 

"Uhh..." Katie looks around, before pointing to a dark figure near the birthlake, "He is."
