Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"What's been happening?" Katie asks.


A large vine hand picks Artemis up and throws her down the pathway of trees. Artemis sails through the air quickly and gracefully.

 

"Fair point... but what motive would those evil plants have? There's usually a reason for everything, isn't there?"

"Do you mind me asking how long you've been here? You probably have gotten some kind of ability from the lake over time."

 

"I've been around the island for about 30 days, and in the lake for about 5 days so far."

 

"Oh, nevermind. I thought maybe you'd been here longer."

 

"Takes a while to walk on the bottom of the ocean to a random island you don't exactly know the location of. This island wasn't what I was shooting for, but it works."
Pause.
"Hey, there's seems to be one of you friends in the water. She's got a fish tail. What's her name? Or do you need more specifics?"

 

"That's Katie, a water guardian. She's pretty nice, so if you want you could go introduce yourself."

 

"I might, but she seems occupied with something. I'll just wait near her until she notices me. Have a good, relaxing time in the lake!"
Crystal says, using the weightlessness of the water to go bounding off towards Katie.

Katie can barely notice a figure, in front of her in the water.
Due to the magic, though, it's extremely hard to see.

 

"Huh?" Katie asks, reaching out the the figure.

 

Some motion is visible, and a voice responds,
"Hi, Katie!"

 

"Wha!?" Katie exclaims, swimming back, "How do you know who I am? Are you the birthlake?"

 

"Because your friend Ihra told me, and no. Is that what this lake is called? The Birthlake?"
The figure doesn't seem to make an advance.

 

"U-Uh, yes. Who are you?" Katie asks.

 

"Crystal. Nice to meet you. Can you see me right now?"
Crystal asks, advancing a bit.

 

"Not...really. Though it's nice to meet you too." Katie says, offering a handshake.

 

Crystal makes a motion, and Katie can feel a smooth stone in the shape of a hand accept the handshake.

 

"Oh, hehe. You wear some strange armour, Crystal." Katie says, laughing slightly.

 

"Huh? Oh, that's not armor, that's my actual hand. That's why I'm named Crystal. I guess I didn't explain that very bluntly. It may be bias, but I think the crystal that makes me looks nice."

 

"What? So you're a golem?" Katie asks, reaching out and feeling Crystal.

 

"A kingdom called Brisingr collapsed. There have been all sorts of events happening, but that seems to be the largest... except for the giant dragon which appeared a while ago. It disappeared, but apparently it was huge."

Artemis just about has time to here a startled 'Eep' before the hand throws her.
When she reaches the end of the path, she finds the original path leading to the Birthlake. It seems to have already started forming.
Yver is hurrying behind her, but they are very far away.

"We don't know. They might want to take control of the forest or they could have a personal dislike of any of life for some reason. We can't find out because trying to connect with them doesn't work."

 

"You are able to defend yourself, right?"
