If it's Hyper, doesn't that rule out it being Apex?

I don't know, I'm not sure Apex is on MHGen (though I'm not saying it isn't, because there could be some I just haven't seen yet. But Hyper and Apex would interesting, especially if the hunter overcomes frenzy and attacks a Hyper body part at the same time. That would deal op damage, though fighting that Tigrex would be insane because of speed and damage.)

One week until the demo, I'm so hyped that I think I became a Hyper State Tigrex.

Going to try to respond to all of these.

1. But there is a lock-on?
2. It's annoying, but I think they did it to make the game more realistic.
3. And after every other potion and consumable. And I guess because they wanted people to look like they're coming back into the battle? Idk, it's annoying though. When I used to have an item with bad sharpness, I spent half a battle with monsters like Rathalos using potions, nulberries, antidotes and whetstones. The other half? That was spent being destroyed by attack combos. My palicoes also never help me... they always heal AFTER I die.
4. I think it isn't realistic, but if they didn't have that much health, the game would be way too easy.
5. Would a sword of that size even get off the ground in the real world, let alone be held above your head for 3 seconds?
6. Because you're holding something in both hands in most cases.
7. One reason: open world would cause insane lag, I'm sure of it. If they had open world monster hunters on pc...
8. I agree, some parts are really repetitive. They didn't have to add so many Tigrex quests in MH4U.
9. This would make sense with something like dual blades and longsword, but everything else is really heavy. But aerial looks like the new mobility, especially for bowguns.
10. Low rank, high rank and g-rank are the difficulty setting.
11. I agree, I have about 6-7 boxes filled with items on MH4U.
12. Depends on weapon, though many weapons don't take much to sheathe. Switch axe and bowgun users are screwed because they take so long to sheathe.

19. In that case, I am so screwed for G-Rank when I finally reach it. Every time I do multiplayer, my 3DS loses connection after 5 minutes.

21. Normal level 1 shots are unlimited, but I can't say much because I haven't used bowgun except in weapon testing since I got stuck on that first Tetsucabra for a whole month because of bowguns.
22. You didn't get any decorations?
23. Same, except for fighting a gigantic elder dragon as my first battle in MH4U. I remember thinking, "Wonder what this game will be like, most games on 3DS I only have about 30-100 hours play time". Then I saw Dah'ren Mohran and I thought, "This is actually great, I'll stay with this game for a while!". A month later, "OH GOD NO PLEASE END NOW I NEED TO FINISH THIS QUEST PLEASE JUST DIE PLEASE". Now I've got used to the likes of Tigrex and Tetsucabra, But now my two most hated monsters have Deviants... I'm screwed.
24. Erm... what about Dah'ren Mohran? Unless your first game was Tri, in which case, I see what you mean.
25. What weapon did you use again? I use Great Sword and I think exactly the same thing about other weapons. The only other weapon I'm okay with is long sword, but after being stuck on Frenzied Brachydios for a month, I gave up and went back to Great Sword.


And here is my list of things:
1. Too many Tigrex.
2. Seltas equipment on low rank is broken.
3. What? Low rank elder dragons and other powerful monsters are almost the same as on High rank?!
4. JUST OPEN UP YOU STUPID SWITCH AXE.
5. So I fight a Rathian, it destroys me. I fight a Rathian and Najarala, I weaken the Najarala, it gets blasted to pieces and then I finish off the Rathian. Logic.
6. So I need more damage, but my really useful Great Sword won't upgrade until I get G-Rank materials?
7. If I just drink this potion, I will have full health... and now it's gone again.
8. Argh, this Akantor practically moved its foot an inch and I died. Guess there's a reason you don't do Event Quests before you do the actual quests...
9. Yes! Just need to stay in this Kushala Daora's blind spot underneath and- oh wait, the Wind Barrier knocked me down and it tornadoed me.
10. But I don't want to fight the Apex Seregios first! I want to fight an elder dragon which isn't a Shagaru Magala in the first time in half a year or more.

 

It isn't my list, just something funny I found.

Side note: I also dislike the flexing animation. I'd much prefer a long-ass drinking animation or an animation where the hunter puts the potion away.

 

Well, the game itself isn't out. The demo is either out or is coming out today (haven't checked yet). So you aren't quite late.

What are your favorites so far?

imo Adept Longsword, when you get the dodge just right

 

This is my thoughts so far:
1. Guild is normal.
2. Striker seems to be a better version of guild. I thought they would limit the moveset or something, but the gameplay feels exactly the same except there are more hunter arts and they regen quicker.
3. Aerial is hard to pull off, especially because I'm testing all of these on Great Maccao, which is hard to aim at, but with work I can do this.
4. I really need to work on adept. I'm usually pressing the attack button when I should be doing the adept dodge.

I've tried all Great Swords and Longswords and I have done guild and striker on Sword and Shield. So far I like the Great Sword the most (because I'm used to it and I like its hunters arts the most).

 

I like Guild Style SA and and Arial SA (gotta get those extra hits) and my favorite monster is the Lagiacrus

NOW NOTHING IS HAPPENING, AND I'VE GIVEN UP TRYING TO WORK OUT STUFF ABOUT THE DRAGON ELEMENT, I CAN'T CONTAIN IT.

On a side note, I finished testing stuff on Great Maccao. My general thoughts:

Great Sword - Slow but effective cleaver
Long Sword - Senpai's weapon with even more senpai stuff
Sword and Shield - Okay weapon, but definitely not favourite
Dual Blades - SO FAST OMG
Hammer - Hunting arts really hard to use, generally didn't like this in the first place
Hunting Horn - I gave up on this when I first saw it, damage deflection prevention is dominating the effects I see.
Lance - Arts and styles literally eliminate all this weapon's weaknesses, monsters are doomed
Gunlance - I like the mechanics for this
Switch Axe - If striker is the versatile powerhouse, what is this?!
Charge Blade - Great Maccao didn't stand a chance against seven charge energy blade, wonder what ten charge energy blade is going to be like. Will be effective at attacking monsters which dodge, unless they dodge to your right, the blindspot of energy blade.
Insect Glaive - If dual blade is the fast hitting weapon, what is this?!
Light Bowgun - Machine gun commando
Heavy Bowgun - Nuclear warhead in a crossbow
Bow - Urgh, I like bow, but really? It isn't that great compared to pretty much all the others
Prowler - Great combo attacks, suicide bombing and meows all in one! Only one thing... WHY HORNS WHY?!

Aerial was a bit disappointing. Though Adept is there to save the day

I'm no shotgun-stick user... but this still looks neato.

 

I agree that adept bow was actually the best, but I still prefer either of the bowguns for ranged, whatever the style.
And that wasn't gunlance on the gif, was it?! Because I was talking about the heat gauge. As that weapon leaps over the monster like that, I'm assuming it's heavy bowgun or light bowgun, likely heavy.

Not MHGen spoilers, so it should be fine, seeing as the only MHGen thing related to it is Nakarkos, but that's just something to base it around.

 

Oh. It always looked like a gunlance to me. Probably H.Bowgun though, now that you mention it.
