    THE REALM OF AVAR
    Save it
    Conquer it
    Destroy it
    [IMG]

More detailed maps can be found in the region info tab. Also, there are other undiscovered regions.
Welcome to The Avarice of Oblivion, an open world roleplay where you can do virtually anything. You can find all needed info in the tabs below.
Avar is an apocalyptic world, war ridden and being torn apart by a dark fog known as Oblivion.

You are a wraith, sent from Oblivion and destined to finish the world off. However, some destinies can be fought. It’s your choice. (There's more lore than that, I promise you. You have to find it)
Wraiths are beings of dark energy, from the depths of Oblivion itself. They can take the forms of other races, but they'll still retain their weaknesses and abilities.

Every wraith has a special innate ability, such as turning to stone, flying, bending water, or turning invisible.

A wraith can only change it's abilities or appearance/race in Oblivion.

Note: You cannot use time manipulation as your wraith ability- it's ridiculously OP and ruins RP for others.

-On contact with gold, a wraith will experience a burning pain. Being close to gold will suppress their wraith abilities and possibly make them nauseous.

As you grow more powerful, you might find yourself gaining abilities such as levitation and telepathy.
-Combat is done roleplay style, there are no stats. However, being faster or stronger will obviously make you more effective in combat, as will having better weapons or armor.

-The currency goes from bronze, to silver, to gold. Ten bronze is worth one silver, and ten silver one gold. And yes, the gold will burn you.

-There will be player interactions- and more of them as time goes on.

-You can get people to follow you, have mercenaries, or pets.

-It is perfectly possible to become ruler of a kingdom or even make your own kingdom.

-There's many many storylines you can find- I make a new one like every day, and I've been working on this for like 3 months.

-There are ways to improve your weapons/armor, and you can always get new equipment later in.

A mountainous region, and the largest of the regions. A majority of the ground is rock, but there’s still a few tundras here and there. Hunting, fishing, and trading their precious gems get enough food to the populace. Angels hold the crown here. (Angels are just winged people instead of winged babies in this world). Other civilized species include humans, electric, rock and cloud golems/elementals, dwarves, sun elves, and cave orcs/goblins
    [IMG]
    Population: 723,019, militants - 10,792
    [IMG]
A mostly forest/plain region, and the most like a typical fantasy world. The ruler is a wood elf. Other civilized species include humans, wood and leaf golems/elementals, nymphs, fairies, orcs, goblins, and halflings.
    Population: 679,830, militants - 11,968
    [IMG]
Cold place with cold things. If you break through the thick layer of ice that coats the grounded, you’ll find a vast ocean like expanse of water. Fishing are the main sources of food. The current ruler of Cyles is a snow elf. Other civilized species include humans, frost dwarves, ice golems, and naga.
    Population: 367,103, militants - 7,190
    [IMG]
A region where Oblivion has cracked through, corrupting the land and unleashing it’s terrors upon it. The link between Oblivion and Avar is stronger here, and any wraith can feel it. All roads here have fallen into disrepair, and simply leaving the city is a risk. The current holder of the crown is a shade. Other civilized species include drow (aka dark elves), undead to a very short extent, dragonkin, humans, and orcs.
Population: 120,739 militants - 2,939 (nearly everyone armed, not in military)
Repeated failure to follow these will result in removal from the roleplay.

-No metagaming, defined as knowing things in character that your character has not learned, through out of character knowledge, ex. Knowing another player has a weakness to fire and using it against them.

-No power gaming, defined as using incredibly overpowered actions or both using an action and determining the result without giving the target time to react. ex. “I swing my sword, xX_FaZeSqUaD_Xx, at the enemy. I sever the enemy’s arm and then decapitate them.

-Keep it PG 13. Alcohol consumption is fine, though.

-I determine the result of an action. No one else.

-Write “((ORANGE IS THE NEW GREEN XD))" somewhere in your application.
((Just read the thing and fill out the blanks. This is all in roleplay.))

You feel like nothing. You're nowhere. It's just like this for what feels like an eternity, before a voice splits the blackness, echoing through your mind.

“So- you’ve expressed an interest in redemption. Good. Before you begin your conq- er… journey, we need to know more about you. Obviously I don’t care enough to find all your memories for you.

    First off, what’s your name?”

    < Name here >

“I… Am pretty sure that’s not a name native to here. Whatever works, I guess. Now, what race do you wish to be? As you're in Oblivion, you can change it all you want- but after you reach Avar, you're stuck.”

    < Race here >

Mhmm… What’s your wraith ability, then?”

< Special ability, ex. Elemental bending, flight, turning to stone >

"Laaaame. By which I mean- nice choice. Ehm now… Do you have a general physical description you’d like to use in Avar? It’s fine if you don’t, I guess. I’ll just make you really ugly, like your soul.”

    < Appearance, optional >

"And weapons. You need a weapon to spill mortal bl-" the speaker hesitates, “Silly me. I meant to say ‘bring justice,’ yeah, definitely. Also I can only make two weapons of decent strength, sorry. My mortal tether is kind of weak right now..."

< Weapons here, a max of two >

“Now, where do you want me to drop you?”

    < Preferred starting point >

Remember to keep all out of topic talk in double parenthesis ((like this)). For now, this RP has no player cap. If I start to feel overwhelmed, it will. If you couldn't tell, most of the mechanics/lore will be revealed in roleplay.

"Right, everything seems to be in order. I really hope you don't die, you know. You could be useful."

The blackness seems to open up below you, giving way to a pale azure sky. Gravity pulls you through the hole, and you're met with a sharp wind. Righting yourself, a thick layer of clouds below become visible, advancing fast.

A strong wind rocks you to the side, and the next thing you know you've split the cloud layer. The ground is still far away now, but you can make out a massive expanse of entangled, dying trees, a poor excuse for a forest. A few whisps of smoke pick their way out of a chimney on the edge of the forest- doubtlessly a small cottage.

The ground is blanketed with snow, but even if you miss the sharp tips of the trees, crashing wouldn't be healthy.

The speaker seems to blank out for a bit. A human materializes in front of you, a black-tipped spear strapped to his back. A hole blinks into existence below him, and as fast as he appears, he's gone. The hole closes up, the only evidence it was ever there is a cool breeze.

"Yeah, you're not the only wraith entering Avar. Oh wait... oops. I think I sent him five thousand feet in the air. Mmm, whatever. Let's just get you started. Good luck."

Another hole, much like the first, opens up below you. The only difference seems to be that it seems to be over the shimmering branches of a strange tree seemingly made of silver from leaves to bark.

"Probably not a good idea. Don't want anyone else dying."

The hole closes up, and replaces itself with a different one. This one seems to be hovering over a cobblestone road. Your feet unfreeze, and you end up falling through the hole.

A gasp escapes a passerby as your feet hit the cobblestone with a thud. Of course, whoever sent you here had to pick the busiest square in the city. Your entrance didn't go unnoticed- five guards who must have been patrolling make their way toward you, pushing hurriedly through the crowd.

"Halt, elf!" One of the guards cry out.
You watch as both a human and an elf appear, falling into holes in the ground.

"Alright... Mushroom Village it is. Hopefully this one goes well. Good luck."

A hole opens up below you. Through the hole, a forest of giant mushrooms and undergrowth unfolds. You can see a cluster of in the wooden houses in the distance that seem to be built into and around the stems of the mushrooms, some in midair and connected by bridges. Like the two wraiths before you, your feet find the empty air and fall.

The fall isn't long, and you soon find yourself lying on top of a soft, crimson mushroom. The air is humid and sticky, and you can hear the hum of daily life and light conversation down in the village below.

The push is hard enough to send the passerby into the guards. The passerby lets out a confused grunt as they slam into a guard. They stumble backward, and end up grabbing on to the edge of the closest guard's hauberk for leverage.

"Ge' offa me!" The guard barks, angrily drawing back his foot to kick the person.

A small crowd has gathered now, drawn by the confusion. You might have bought yourself a few seconds.

You turn away from the guards, hurriedly ducking and dodging through the relatively thin crowd. The clang of metal hitting skin can be heard as the guard kicks the person off of them.

"'E's runnin'!" The guard yells. They give chase after you, pushing people out of the way. The crowd has already swallowed you, though. Your dark robe blends in well enough, and the guards will have a hard time picking you out.

You did just warp into a busy square using a portal to Oblivion. Might at least be a cause for questioning.

Many of the people seem to come to their senses after a while, casting you glares. At least none of them call out to the guards. The square is surrounded by old, mostly broken down houses on all sides. There's a small foot-long gap between each of the houses, though, where you can slip through. The gap seems to open into a shady alley farther down.

You start through the gap, going in sideways to better save space. It's incredibly tight, but you manage to get about halfway through.

That's not to say you don't get a few sideways glances and strange looks from anyone who happens to peer down the gap.

A long guard passes by once, his shining armor hard to miss in the sun. He doesn't seem to be searching very though- or really at all. He just lazily glances around the square and moves on.

You make it through the gap and into the alley, and intake the stiff air. It's only dimly lit, but from what you can tell it goes on for a while before branching off in three ways. Two lowlife lean on the alley wall, one dragging a knife along the old wood, and the other staring at you suspiciously. Neither say anything.

You pick your way down the mushroom, finding various footholds that you feel were probably put there on purpose. A house is built into the mushroom just below you, and you could probably drop down to it.

The crisscrossing bridges that connect the village homes don't seem very busy, only a few people move on them. All the people seem short, a third of a regular human's size. They push various carts filled with food such as mushrooms or pumpkins, laughing and talking.
    ________________________________
One of the men just keeps staring at you. The other one stops dragging his knife, righting himself to better point out the various paths. He seems shorter, maybe a dwarf.

"Tha' one 'ill bring ye to the back door of tha Honeyridge Tavern." He points down a path leading to the right. "Tha' one goes to tha marketplace." He points down the one to the left.
"And tha' one 'ill take you to tha sewers. Used by thieves to get anywhere, including out of tha city." He points to the path directly in front of you, which ends in darkness. Then, his gaze darkens. "But don't ye go tellin' tha' to tha guards, ye here? Thieves won't be thrilled with ye."
