Hello future Minecraft movie-goers!

I know you’ve been thinking just about every day, “When’s the Minecraft movie coming out?” Luckily for you, we can finally say!

The Minecraft movie will be released on May 24, 2019! The film will also be released in 3D & IMAX.

Yes, that might seem like a long time away, but it just so happens to be the right amount of time to make it completely awesome. And we all want an awesome Minecraft movie, right?

Shit. Microsoft continues to murder Minecraft.

 

this is going to be so cringy

 

warcraft was an successful adaption since it had plenty of lore from before, but minecraft?! Are you out of your wits?

 

I don't know what's worse:

The movie is coming out in 2019

Or

They give us a movie before giving us more lore (last lore they gave us was the nether being a world similar to the over world a long time ago)

 

Nope, the worst part is THEM MAKING A MOVIE ABOUT MINECRAFT.

 

I'm gonna be honest, I have imagined before how cool it would be if minecraft was a Tv show (not all blocky of corse, but still minecraft). So a movie does not seem all that bad. But I think it's gonna be as over hyped and as bad as the Lego movie

 

The Lego movie was a fantastic movie in my opinion.

 

Who's to say that the Minecraft movie will be just as fun and great as the Lego Movie?

 

I agree, I enjoyed the Warcraft movie since it actually had a story and such.
But Minecraft? What's the story going to be? Did a griefer steal a diamond block and the protagonist's goal is to get it back?
I honestly think that if a game doesn't have lore, it should never ever have a movie/show adaptation.

If it's about story mode then ok. If it's just minecraft in general then NO.

I'm betting you this is going to be about the most cringe-y MC youtubers. Since minecraft has gotten so huge I'm not surprised that this is a thing, but that doesn't mean I want it to be a thing...

It seems like Microsoft would like to beat this dead horse a bit more. I don't blame them, though. They need to milk the game to death, since they spent 2.5 billion on a game that's sadly dying.
