Music Maltic Theme Cover On Violin

Hello, my name is Ackro, and today we are... not going to impersonate Grian.

So, if you may know, I play violin (and piano!), but you know, I am well aware that I am no Alexander Rybak (you Europeans should know).

I recorded and did stuff with the Maltic Theme (which I learned to love a few days ago) on violin, and I have a result!



Please, do tell me how I can improve (both musically and in video quality). I am not really looking to be some regular Youtuber, however, I want to improve in violinism, if that's how you say it.

Nice! Could be a little thicker, but that would require playing multiple pieces perfectly AND editing them together, so what you did is enough :)

 

I did record the 1st violin twice, and 2nd violin once. I assume they weren't too obvious then. However, yes, I really enjoy it when it's, as you call it, "thick"! ;D

 

This is amazing! I have no clue how hard Violin is as I only do clarinet and piano, but it already sounds great!

 

Violin can be tricky, but anyone with an ear for music can do it. I would never be able to catch a breath for clarinet, though! ;D

 

now this is some violin! I've heard dozens of people play, and this style is different because I only hear violin in southern music. But this is Guud

It doesn't exactly have the biggest range.

Oh please, I can't even grasp how to play strings. Then again, I can't get a sound out of a clarinet either. Strings and Woodwinds are like this realm of impossibility for me.

 

Hey, we could always be able to do some type of collab, and maybe even bring in some other cool instruments, to play a fitting song. That could be fun! ;D

MUAHAHAHAAAAA BOW DOWN TO YOUR CLARINET OVERLOR-how do you play tuba?

 

Well for starters the mouthpiece is like as big as your entire face so you just put your mouth in and vibrate your lips reeeaaally loosely. Then you just hold down the correct fingering. You only have 8 different combinations for keys though, so lots of notes have the same fingerings: For example, valves 1 & 3 is every F and C. All of them. But the F's can also be played with open valves EXCEPT for the lowest one. Stuff like that. So in order to get the note you want you need to tighten or loosen your lips as you play. Instead of having 4759037569 keys, we only have 3, but we actually have to do stuff with our mouths to get different notes.

 

...nope. I'll stick to clarinet. The keys are actually linear so we don't have to remember which combination of mouth and valves gives which note.

well it's a fairly linear pattern for us too, doing a chromatic scale from Bb to Bb has a pattern. 0, 123, 13, 23, 12, 1, 2, 0, 23, 12, 1, 2, 0
It follows the same pattern of keys but just subtracts a few of the lower fingerings each time you get to an open fingering
and then you just progressively make your mouth a bit tighter each note
