Why Does Mana Deplete When You Walk?

It's called mana for a reason because mana is used a supernatural power to perform spells therefore it should not deplete when you walk.

If it where to deplete when you walk, then it would be called stamina.

Please make it so that mana only depletes when you perform spells because waiting for mana to regenerate when walking is very tedious and boring.

 

It does regenerate when you walk.
I suggest you don't sprint.

 

Think of it like a spell that makes you run faster - that's what a lot of people think.

 

If it depletes during regular walking, you should consider watching out for the IDs of some of your armour.

Think of mana as energy. Of course, mana sounds cooler, so that's what the name is. If you ran across the entire province, would you still have the physical and magical strength to summon a giant meteor?

 

whilst i agree that it's a little weird
think of it like this: in pokemon, without running shoes, you can't run. why? because game, that's why.

or just get a fuckton of mana regen that works as well

 

It's because we're all secretly lazy bums in game, and we need to use magic to go the speeds we do, duh!

 

You'd still be moving faster than the people who have a tank build with Statue and shiz.

 

The Wynncraft mana is Minecraft's hunger bar, it is going down because the Game Makers either didn't bother making it not lower while running, or they left it for logic/realism and fairness

If you have a compelling reason why it shouldn't deplete while running and/or sprinting, make a thread in the "General Suggestions" section.

Notice the key word: compelling

 

Even when walking... I can only sprint for like 5-6 seconds then I got to stop for my mana to regenerate, doing that repetitively is so tedious.

 

Salted intentionally added the depletion when sprinting in the Gavel update. Before Gavel, everyone could happily sprint as much as they wanted.

 

In a way its really tedious, in another way, I guess it's needed.

 

I'm 99% sure that before Gavel you couldn't sprint as much as you wanted to (look at some old LPs). I think all that changed is that mana regens slower now (possibly) or that it takes more mana to sprint (prossibly).

 

Ah, right, that was it. But I am sure that even though mana depletes slower now, you must've been able to sprint far much longer before.

 

Oh, Well then switch the "they left it" to "they changed it for" forgot they did that tbh...
