Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

I let him sleep and look out the window to check the relative time.

 

The sun's not quite directly above you. Probably an hour or two before noon.

 

Abigail gently sets Iruk down before heading over to the crater to look inside.

"Just a bomb. The flowery asshole finally died, so we're celebrating."

"I think it's time I told you the truth," Myria says, "The flower had no disease. I lied to you so you wouldn't be suspicious and stop me. The flower was Sir Robert, the man you were looking for. He was so hell bent on killing us, I stopped him."

Myria's words sound rather convincing.

Upon hearing your plans to bring the plant back to life, Abigail quickly snatches the pouch out of your hands, "No no no no, NO! You do not bring that douche back to life." She says with a serious tone, holding the pouch away from you.

 

I leave the house and walk into the town, looking for a shop that sells supplies.

 

"Alright, since all of you are so adamant on it, I won't be reviving him." I say, desummoning the pouch from Abigail's hands.

"Thank you, Miss Myria, for coming clean in a respectable manner." I say, "And since all of you are adamant of it, I shall assume that these ashes are those of Sir Robert's. In which case I shall return to Greenhill Strong after my sightseeing trip and hold a ceremony in his honor. This man was one of the few who properly wielded the power I vested upon him."

 

Iruk follows, curious.

There's a grocery store and an outdoors activity shop.

"He may have wielded your power fairly at first, but he changed. However, there are two things I can sense; he split his body in two and the other half is..."
...still cutting up training dummies, I think.
"...anyhow, the second is that soul is still in that bag, so you can do what you wish with that."

 

I go to the grocery store and ask the shopkeeper. "Have any supplies I could buy? Preferably, I'd like them to last as long as possible, so dried and salted meats would be preferable."

 

"There's some in the expedition supplies aisle. As for any backpacks, I'd recommend the outdoors shop across the street."

 

"I see..." I say.

"Well, I shall go back to sightseeing." I say, before disappearing.

 

"Thanks." I say. I leave the shop and go into the outdoor shop. "Can I have two large backpacks?" I pull out the money I have left over.

 

"Sure, but save that for the counter."
The employee brings you back into an aisle with a variety of backpacks.

 

Arnold takes out the Dacori book and starts reading it again.

"He made the island for me many years ago. When I say made, he pretty much raised the seabed to create an island and then used magic to create the Birthlake.

"I found this cute little thing walking on the ocean and it liked me, so it wanted to come with me."

The group is now at the edge of the forest. You can see that the forest is very dense.
"Oh, and the plants don't like outsiders. But because you're with me, then they will let you pass...
... though I'm not sure how Rineth is going to get through."

 

I pick some large backpacks and take them to the counter.

 

"Maybe he could fly over until we get to the lake? Or is the lake covered by treetops?"
I suggest.

 

I laugh, rather loudly, "You really think he properly wielded your power? HAHAHA! That's hilarious! The dude turned!" I say.

The crater appears to be fairly empty, however, at the very bottom, there appears to be an irregular cluster of stones.

Abigail slides down the crater towards the stones.

"Maybe I could communicate with them?" Myria asks, "I've had enough experience with sentient forests. While they usually are friendly to Forest Guardians, I'm guessing since you don't have guardians at all here, they won't act the same."

 

"Yes, he could fly to the lake. That is, if the lake is large enough. If not, he could probably see us from outside the forest."

"As I said, they will let you past. It's just that branches can move to the side, but whole trees can't, which is a problem because Rineth can't get through the forest without crushing it."

 

"Well, that's certainly unfortunate." Myria says, before walking over to Stephanie.

"Stephanie, do you know any spells that are capable of shrinking things?" Myria asks.

"Um, not really. Maybe it's covered in my tome, but I've never cast such a spell before." Stephanie says.

"Oh, well never mind." Myria says, smiling at Stephanie.

 

"Hey, since you're here, can you find where the glyph trap is?"

"That's awesome."

Rineth shouts from the water;
"I'LL WAIT HERE!"

Iruk approaches the stones as well.
"What are those?"

"Ah, you and a friend are going hiking? I wish you safe travels!" The cashier says, completing the transaction.
"Here, it's a bit warmer than usual. Have a water bottle for you and your friend. It's not much, but it's better than nothing."

 

"They're certainly not shoes." Abigail says, picking up some of the stones.

Suddenly, the ground starts to rumble, and it falls through. Abigail manages to catch herself, however the fall isn't too far.

"Whoa, what is this place?" Abigail asks, lighting up the area. It seems to be a large room of sorts, made out of stone-like bricks.

 

Iruk glides down, unslotting two of his blades.
"Dungeon?"
