What Stat Is Most Important On A Cactus (like Str Or Def)

TBH I dont think that question should be asked. As Salted said from the begining of the gavel update (I think it was him): "The items fit your build, not the other way around. If you need to completly rearange your stat points to use an items, the item is not good for you"

No it's because a cactus is alot more effective way of being a tank than just going something like full health, my goal was to become a really big tank :P

 

In that case you chould have already put your points in strength and defence

I would assume any "tank" items would use earth and fire, giving the assumption that cactus would require those stat points.



But I could be wrong, I never have actually seen the item.

Oh no bc at first I was def and agi for full defensive stats (I didn't know about cactus during that time), but that doesnt let me proc lifesteal alot from thorns, and im warrior

 

Ah true, def and agi would make sure you take very little damage. But also deal the damage of a dishtowel.

And (not trying to streotype) but it kind of makes sense that your going tank as a warrior.



Also, fyi, I think the reason people hate cactus is because (I may be wrong on this) life steal is not meant to activate on thorns. The fact that it does is a bug which is why people say the IDs are glitched.

I'm pretty sure its not intended. Thats why someone earlier talked about "abusing ids". I could be wrong, but I am pretty sure a mod said it was a bug.

However I don't think its getting fixed any time soon (which I also may be wrong on)

 

It's been confirmed by GMs like Selvut that the infamous cactus bug will get squashed next patch.

@Diabound I honestly wouldn't recommend a cactus build since at this point it's pretty much inevitable that it's going to get nerfed, you'd just be wasting your emeralds on it.

If you're going Cactus for the sake of tanking and not AFK grinding, honestly I think that's great. In that regard, it's a very viable set even in PvE, but try to either invest in some items with health regen or life steal, or carry a lot of potions, to keep yourself alive(I recommend life steal so you can actually use it as it was intended; gaining life from hitting enemies with your weapon).

 

Yeah that's what I'm doing right now, I want to have an easy time, but not so easy that I'm not even playing the game ._.

 

The bug is that life steal is activating EVERY TIME on thorns, right?
So, when the bug is fixed, will it still activate, but only sometimes, like with normal attacks?
Or will it not work on thorns at all?

Not sure.

Most thorns items aren't water-based, which means your heal is weaker and you'll also have low intelligence, making heal spam less of an option.

 

But what about reflection items?
Also, I can cover nearly 100% thorns in about two items, Endurance and Needle Cuff, leaving lots of room for other items, like Crystal for reflection and mana regen, and Mirror, or Call of the Void.
...or maybe just Virgo to cover everything.

 

Then how squishy will you be? You'll be able to use heal a bunch yeah, but that won't exactly leave you with the best offensive, especially as a mage, and hits you take are going to hurt. If you're stacking up mana items, in addition, you won't have any room for defensive stats.

If I'm doing damage by taking hits, I don't need to have the best offence. Call of the Void, Needle Cuff, and Mirror get me to 100% alone with max IDs, and there's always Endurance and Crystal which are also very good in their own respective ways. That still leaves one ring, maybe suppression or concentration, a pendant slot, how about altum spacium or the Wynn Ex D water pendant, and BOOTS.
You say I lack defence? I laugh at you and point at my statue boots. It's not like I need to move much if the point of the build is to get hit.

Well that was kinda rude, considering I've never even done a cactus build yet and I never plan on AFK grinding...
