Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"I'm glad you were around dead corpses. I hate alive corpses." Artemis says laughing.

"What if you see someone not enjoying themselves, bringing people back to life?" I ask, smiling.

 

I chuckle at Artemis's comment.
"Then I would tell their leader to give them better respect, honestly."

 

You're on the fourth floor.
The elevator door opens.

 

I crouch low on the ground and check to see if anyone is on the floor.

 

You're alone on the floor.
There are just a bunch of bins with various labels and plants inside.

(OOC: If you want to have found something, make up a name for it or name something random)

 

OOC: I'll give you an in depth overview of Asrodonia in the future. It was partially created before the RP, but some stuff is a bit new. The plant I'm looking for is the fairly common desert root, named Fire Root. It's a dark red an orange root use for healing. It can grow anywhere where the temperature is relatively hot. It's mashed up and mixed with water, then rubbed on the wound.
I look for the Fire Root, remembering healers using it when warriors were injured in battle.

 

You don't quite find what you're looking for, but there's a shelf off to the side with the label "Desert Plants" with a bunch of unlabelled boxes.

 

"And where were you, might I ask?"

 

I start to unbox the many boxes, looking for the right root.

 

Eventually you find it, but there's not a lot of anything.

You hear the elevator moving.

 

Artemis starts braiding my hair, giggling.

"What if you saw someone enjoying themselves, but the people around them weren't?" I ask, smiling.

 

I grab the root, put everything back where I found it, and duck behind a crate of herbs.

 

"I'd come to the solution that one of three things are going on. One, that person finds joy in hurting those people. Two, that person just received something important that the others didn't. Or three, that person's not always in the right mental state."
Pause.
"Whatever you want to call the 'right mental state' doesn't bother me, different people have different opinions."

 

"Normality is an illusion. What's normal for the spider is chaos for the fly." Artemis says, suddenly serious, before going back to braiding my hair and giggling.

"So, you're not ok when people find joy in hurting others? What if those other people were bad?" I ask.

 

"People still shouldn't find joy in that. It should feel like it was something they had to do, something that they needed to do. Not something that they wanted to do. Sure, you can feel good after doing it, but it's triumph you should feel. Not joy."
Pause.
"That's my thought process, at least."

 

"I'll never understand you, mainly because you're a robot." Artemis says, laughing.

"Hm. Well, considering you're a robot, what keeps you running? Do you have like, solar panels in your skull or something?" I ask, curious.

 

"Because the scientists decided to not let me have three of the human body systems, there was quite the bit of extra space. Most of that goes to wires, but the place where the kidneys used to be holds electric boxes, one in the place of each kidney. These boxes exert more energy than they take to operate, so they recycle each other's energy. The one on the left give power throughout my body and also powers the right box, and the one on the right gives power throughout my body and to the left box."

 

"Oh, so you work off of paradoxical magic?" I ask, "Kind of like strapping buttered toast to a cat?"

 

"To my knowledge, no, it was just some crazy scientists and some engineers that wanted to get payed a lot. If I knew the whole story on how it works, I would, but those scientists weren't dumb. They never told me."

 

"Hey Aj." Artemis says.

"What?" I ask.

"Prostitution is getting laid and paid." Artemis says, grinning.

I burst out laughing, almost dropping Artemis.
